13 Smoothie Add-Ins That Provide a Nutrient Boost

Smoothie Add-Ins That Provide a Nutrient Boost

Depending on what nutrients you want to add to your smoothie will determine your nutrient-boosting choices. There are multiple ingredient choices for getting the nutrition you need, so mix and match until the flavor is just right for you. And, it’s good to start with a nice smoothie base consisting of some liquid (I prefer almond milk) and some fruit (fresh, frozen or both). If you are looking for a recipe, I’ve compiled quite the list of delicious banana-free smoothies (yes, mine won’t have bananas in them, but yes, they are good for you!) Make sure you read your nutrition labels as this list isn’t inclusive of all nutrients nor serving sizes.

Add-ins for smoothies

Drinking my one smoothie a day really helps with my wellness goals for 2016. It is quick and easy to add nutrients to and also quick and easy to drink. Plus, it gives me what I need to get through carpool, kid drop off and an hour and a half to two hours at the gym. In fact, lunch time usually hits and I’m still not even hungry. By adding Nature Made vitamin C from Walmart, I’m able to help support my immune system.
