18 Delicious Banana-Free Smoothies

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

Around 3:00 I get the hunger pains. Maybe it’s boredom (not that I don’t have anything to do) or maybe it’s just needing a change of pace. What I don’t need, however, is a the box of candy or bag of chips I’m craving. So, I try to be proactive. I set myself up with healthier snacks around the house and in the freezer and try to make a smoothie before I’m so hungry my children start looking like tasty snacks.

(No. Not really. Are you paying attention? I don’t think they would taste good anyways!)

But here’s the thing, I don’t like bananas. I really, really want to because I know they are good for me, but if you put one piece of a banana in a smoothie, it’s the only thing I taste. And so, 18 smoothies with zero banana!

My favorite smoothie lately has frozen berries, mango, spinach and pumpkin. Pumpkin is a superfood and I had some in the freezer from Halloween. I was sent some samples, so I’ve been mixing my smoothies with Juice Plus+ Complete powder because it adds so many nutrients that I’m not the best at getting every day! It has 14g of protein, 8g of fiber and is dairy-free, gluten-free, and is 100% natural, plant-based. I’m a fan of the vanilla, but it comes in chocolate, too. I just add a half scoop to my smoothie (not shown is the almond milk I add, about a cup), blend it up in my Nutri-Ninja IQ and I’ve got a much healthier snack for me than a bag of chips! It’s also great for a “on-the-go” breakfast, pre-exercise energy drink, or post-workout recovery drink.

Any of these smoothies make for a great snack or even meal replacement with a ton of protein and fiber added via Juice Plus+.

I like bananas, but they do overpower everything else in a smoothie. I’ll put them in for the kids, but I skip them myself. I love smoothies. It’s like a treat, but it’s good for you! 🙂

My mom loves making smoothies in her Ninja. She loves buying fresh fruit, not usually bananas, to use in there along with yogurt of some kind. I think she would love to try the Carrot cake smoothie. I would actually love to try that one, too. Thank you for the list of great tasting smoothies. I can’t wait to see which ones she makes.

Are you guys Costco shoppers? They always carry a huge combo bag of frozen blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. Ideal for a tasty smoothie! I like the chocolate JuicePlus powder, but I only use half the serving because it overwhelms!

    1. We don’t have Costco, but we do have Sam’s Club. Last time I was there, I grabbed a huge bag of frozen mangos. Yum! And, yes, I only use half a scoop of the Juice Plus, too because I like to taste the fruit!
