18 months | Mommy and Me Monday | 281st

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

After leaving B for the second time in a month for Mom 2.0, I was concerned she wasn’t going to want to nurse anymore. She already was refusing any form of my milk in any container, and when I returned, she didn’t want to nurse. (After missing a lot of the conference to pump, I would be damned if she wouldn’t nurse when I got back!)

She finally forgave me, and then decided nursing was semi-cool again, going down to twice a day. Then I got mastitis bad! She was trying to nurse so bad but got pretty furious. But now, she’s back at it 2-3 times a day. It’s not much and not for long, but for now, it works for us.

18 months and still BFing

Sometimes it’s not the easiest thing to do, and I’m so ready to be done.right.now, but other times I’m so glad that we’ve pushed through together. How long will this journey continue? I’m not sure. For now, it’s good and it works for us!

What were you up to this weekend?

Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.  Need another reason to participate in Mommy and Me Monday? Read my post about why I blog with words from a friends’ husband.

**There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies. If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link. It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.*

  1. Breastfeeding is such a special, personal journey. I stopped at 13mo with my son, but he was already interested less and less. With his sister, I’m aiming for 1 year and then we’ll see where after that. It can be exhausting at times, but I also know (as you do) how short lived this time really is.

We spent our weekend with family in Virginia. Hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

    1. She’s definitely gone through stages of more or less interest. My oldest was 13 months, second was 8 months (she was in daycare and just got frustrated with me). E was 16 months and B is well, still going.

  2. Glad you were able to push through and hopefully she can wean more gradually. I hope your mastitis is better now!!

    1. It is much better! Thanks! But those three days were brutal!

  3. I love reading about other moms who breast feed for more than a year!
