Izzy is totally Miss Independent. She wants to do everything herself. Repeatedly, she tells us "leave me alone," "let me do it," and "don't touch me."
But yesterday?
Yesterday. She was having a hard time taking a nap. She asked me to rub her hair. I did.
Then, on a whim, I scooped her up and cuddled her. Wrapped her up in my arms and laid down with her.
And the little girl that hasn't let me take a nap with her in over 2 years? She passed out. She was snoring.
And I Was.In.Heaven! I fell asleep, too.
So, for that one moment. That hour or so, my numero uno was still my baby.

I love when my older kids still want me or say they need me. My 8 year old tonight told me she missed me reading to her. She has been reading for 4 years but I stopped reading to her last year and she misses it. I need to work on keeping that connection with her as long as she is willing

So sweet Krystyn. I haven’t had a nap time snuggle in years, but still get snuggle time watching TV with kids before bed each night (I’ll take what I can get ;o)

Don’t you just LOVE it when they do that?! I treasure the rare moments when my babies fall asleep in my arms.
