Izzy is totally Miss Independent. She wants to do everything herself. Repeatedly, she tells us "leave me alone," "let me do it," and "don't touch me."
But yesterday?
Yesterday. She was having a hard time taking a nap. She asked me to rub her hair. I did.
Then, on a whim, I scooped her up and cuddled her. Wrapped her up in my arms and laid down with her.
And the little girl that hasn't let me take a nap with her in over 2 years? She passed out. She was snoring.
And I Was.In.Heaven! I fell asleep, too.
So, for that one moment. That hour or so, my numero uno was still my baby.

My son has started crawling into bed with me at night to cuddle before we both doze off. Knowing these days won’t last forever, I let him stay and I always wake up so much happier!
