MFS Eyewear and Sun Protection Zone Review and Giveaway**CLOSED

July 16, 2009 in Contest,giveaway,review,Uncategorized

Sun protection is very important to our family. With a history of skin cancer and the fair skin that we have, it is important that we are covered at all times.

Sun Protection Zone sent us two long sleeved suits rash guards for the girls. SunSkinz are tighly woven with proprietary high-density yarn that have a four way stretch fabric. It is comfortable to wear and dries quickly. While I've only tested it out in chlorine, they say stands up well to chlorine and salt water. And, most importantly it is 100 SPF / UPF 50+.

I was so happy when these arrived and wish I had discovered them sooner. Izzy got a 4 and it fit her very well. It saved me so much time because I only had to put sunscreen on the exposed areas (which is very little). And, unlike some other rash guards, this one has a zipper in the front so I didn't have to fight with it.

At first, Isabelle said it wasn't a swimsuit and sort of boycotted, but she ended up loving it.

And, the colors are so bright.

They also sent us one for Natalie in a 1T. This is such a huge time savings as anybody with a rolling/mobile baby knows. They DO NOT want to sit still for sunscreen. The smaller size also has a plastic snap closure at the bottom (like that of a sleeper) for changing diapers; and it still has a zipper down the front.

It seems like they did run a little small for size, so you might want to get a size up from what you are used to.

My First Shades (MFS Eyewear) provide serious sun protection for babies, toddlers and kids. The provide 100% UVA and UVB protection. The have a wrap around neoprene band to keep them in place, which means no metal hinges for little fingers to get pinched in.

They sent us both the My First Shades (left) and the Extreme Elements (right). While I like the look of the my first shades a little better, I liked the fit of the extreme elements more. They were a little bit more snug and fit closer to the face.

Here's Miss Natalie in the My First Shades (0-24 months).

And, Sassy Miss Isabelle in the MFS line as well.

The sunglasses were a little bit more of a battle with the girls to get them to wear them, but I loved that they weren't squinting when we went to the pool.

The companies have generously offered two prizes: One (1)winner will receive a UV rash guard and hat, and One (1)winner will receive a pair of sunshades in your choice.

These are some SA-weet suits! I love the Vintage Postcard w/ Pink Short-sleeved rash guard, or the Pink Hibiscus Long-sleeved Suit–too cute! :) As for the glasses, it's a wrestling match to put anything on my two-year-old's face or head, so I'm not sure these would be worth trying…but the MFS in Bubble Gum Pink (2-5 yrs) are so sweet. Thanks for offering this giveaway!!
