I had this great idea when our old vacuum stopped sucking. I was going to get a new vacuum cleaner and I was going to research it.
And, I did. And, I got the best rated vacuum by consumer reports.
This new vacuum sucks (in a good way). But, it is also "smart." It has some lights that tell me if my floor is dirty (and to what degree) or if it happens to be clean.
So, instead of quickly running the vacuum over the floor before friends come over (because I would never do that, my floor is always spotless), I vacuum the same spot approximately 2,523 times because the little light tells me the floor is still dirty.
I say ignorance is bliss. I liked my floor vacuumed and "clean" the old way.

My mom has one like that and it took me 30 minutes to vacuum the living room! lol
I think I like the old way too!

You should have gotten a Dyson. It doesn't have a light but you know it is clean by all the JUNK it pulls up out of the carpet each time you vacuum!!!

I agree totally! It is addicting and very disturbing on my floor! My floor seems to be red alot

LOL. I have used one of those vacuums and it is such a pain. The little light always says "dirt." And it makes me crazy! Cause I'm a perfectionist.

You'll probably eventually just vacuum away the carpet and then you won't have to worry about vacuuming at all!

Seriously!? I don't think I could handle having an appliance that is smarter than I am. Its bad enough that the kids and dog think they are.

Um yeah I'm pretty sure I'd hate that – my floors are probably ALWAYS dirty – it's kind of part and parcel with having young children, right?
Don't trust any vacuum that thinks it's smarter than you are!
I have seen one of those – you almost have to carpet clean the carpets before you vacuum – so the light will go off! LOL!
Oh no! That would drive me crazy. Like I don't obsess over how clean my floor is enough already! I will definitely avoid that vacuum.
I have never heard of that – could be nice but it could also drive me crazy!
