Having never seen WordWorld, we were really excited when this arrived in the mail from NCircle Entertainment.
If you've never seen the show before (on PBS here), all of the animals as well as inanimate objects are drawn using the word for whatever they are. For example, a barn is drawn with the word "BARN" and a sheep is the word "Sheep." Also, the animals are all called by their names, thus helping with word recognition. It also uses rhyming, phonetics and pronunciation to help preschool aged kids with their reading.
The Kooky Spooky Halloween features Sheep who always has the costume to beat as well as many other animals. Sheep ends up sharing all of the pieces of her costume to add the finishing touches to all of her friends' costumes. In the end, they are able to put new words together to give her a new costume.
Serious Tested:
Isabelle really loves this episode and has asked to watch it repeatedly. She will even tell us about the plot and the new things she is learning.
Buy It:
It is now on sale and NCircle Entertainment for $5.99 for the DVD. NCircle also features other DVDs, games, music and more.
Win It:
NCircle has offered one Really, Are You Serious? reader a copy of their very own A Kooky Spooky Halloween.
