Once I dropped something and said, “Crap!” before I realized what I was saying. My then 2-year-old repeated it, in the same tone, and so I quickly said, “Crash! It crashed!” So she’d go around saying that instead. Close call!

The second she was born we tried to stop. And it’s worked. There have been a few slips but explaining to Karys it’s a bad word has worked. Now if she hears anyone say something bad she makes them apologize. To her nonetheless! No potty language in our house!

LOL that’s too funny! I don’t swear (ok maybe once in a blue moon ) but even some other words like shutup, hate, frickin’ you gotta be careful with cause they do pick it up and it only takes once. Why do kids always seem more prone to picking up bad words than good words?

I don’t curse. My husband does and boy does my son repeat. But, my husband managed to get him out of saying those things. Now, if my son hears anything similar to sh&*, he says, what did you say, and tells my husband not to say it.
