First Day of First Grade (gulp)

While the rest of you are enjoying the final weeks of Summer, last week school started here.

First Grade. That’s like real business.

And yet, she’s still the silly fun-loving girl. Apparently, her favorite thing to do (on her questionnaire) is to eat. And when she grows up, she wants to be a Doctor, just like last year.

I can’t wait to see what growth and development this year brings. It’s always an adventure.

  1. Maggie starts 1st grade in less than 3 weeks. I remember stressing so much last year when kindergarten started but this year? I had to remind myself to get her school supplies and we still haven’t gotten her new tennies yet! Good luck in first grade!

    1. Fortunately we did supplies because our church was having a drive so I got them all at the same time. Yeah, wasn’t stressful at all this year. I’m ready for them to go back.

  3. Love it. Makes me reminiscent for my babies’ first grade year. This year it was first day of college and first day of High school. Enjoy them, and don’t blink.

  6. mine is starting first grade this year as well. oh man…where does time go. I feel like this is harder than kindergarten and I’m not sure why

    1. 2 weeks. Wow, it’s crazy how different the start and end dates are.

    1. I can’t either. And, she knows she’s growing up and it’s a little scary, too!

    Same grade as my grandson who started back to school on the 5th of August. They grow so much in a years time

  14. Wow you guys really did start early! We homeschool and generally school year round, but this year we took the summer off because we moved and we started up last week again too, but the schools here don’t start until next Monday.

    I hardly remember when my daughter was in first grade anymore – she’s a senior this year (gulp!).

  15. Wow, how did she get SO tall?? First grade is so great. I love how they REALLY start to read, etc. My G just started 1st also. 🙂
