Thursday was a very strange and quiet morning for me. I packed THREE lunches for my three girls and they all spent some time at “school.”

Yes, even E. We decided that it would be good for her to have a little play time two days a week with kiddos her age at church for a couple hours because she doesn’t really have any right now.

Thankfully, she was wanting some cuddles before it was time to go. No, no pictures with her and signs. I’m certain I would have lost it. Just a little snuggle time before we headed out the door.

I was so worried she was going to scream when I dropped her off that I didn’t even imagine things going another way. Instead, she walked up to her classroom door, reached up for the door knob and tried to walk in. She turned around, looked at me, then looked at the teachers and on she went. Never giving a second thought or crying.

I think that hurt even more? Crazy mom hormones, I’m sure, but I felt like in that moment, she didn’t need me and wasn’t bothered that I was leaving her. (It’s just because we have such good trust, right, that she knows I’m coming back?)

Of course, I did get a smile similar to this upon picking her up (this is actually from the gender announcement outtakes the other day).

And, she was also super happy to see her sister, too (just like this morning the other day). I think they miss each other more than they miss me!

**There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies. If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link. It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.**

I try to make sure and visit all of you and leave some comment love.  Please spread the love!  And, I never mind the comments, either:)

  1. I’m glad she loved it! Kids are much tougher than us!

  2. Even with a third child, I guess it never gets easier letting them go! I hope all the girls are enjoying everything at their new schools.

  3. wow… i bet it was oddly quiet for a little bit 😉
but enjoy it… you deserve it:)

broxton told me today that i could not walk him in, he was a big kid and had to go through carpool. 🙁 I needed to go in to talk to his teacher… lol, so off to carpool he went, then i parked and went in. they get “grown” way to fast for me 🙂

  4. I am so happy E did well at school. I bet it’s nice to have some time to work truly uninterrupted….until Zeke comes along 🙂

  5. We sent my daughter to a similar place last year for similar reasons, and she did the same thing. She didn’t seem to care at all that she was leaving mommy for the first time. I tried not to get upset and just focus on what a well-adjusted child she is. 🙂
I’d add a picture, but I don’t do pictures of me. Those are my own rules 🙂

  6. AWW too cute! In two weeks, all 3 of mine will be in school! I’m so nervous as DD2 is very shy and will be at school for the first time!

  7. My little one starts school this year too – when I asked her what I would do while she was gone, she replied…”Sit and have a cup of coffee and cry”. I think I will do just that 😉

  8. Such sweet pictures! Glad the girls are enjoying school – I totally hear you on mom being more emotional than the kids! We have one more week of summer here but the kids are itching to go back. We went to meet with MM’s 2nd grade teacher (he actually has the same teacher as last year and we are THRILLED) and peeked into BB’s 4k classroom. We’ll meet her teacher on Friday – can’t believe both my babies will be in school this year!

  9. It is totally because she trusts that you’ll return! 🙂

    Super cute pics!!

  10. I suck at getting pictures of the two of us together, but I promise to do better. We’re trying to decide when to start Sesame in a program, but we’re thinking closer to 2.5. He’s actually gotten much better about being left alone with his aunt. He doesn’t cry anymore, so that’s an improvement.

  11. She is growing so fast. She looks so adorable. Its great that she enjoyed her day.
