Mommy (and Daddy) morning in | Pregnancy 2.0

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

I have to admit, when it comes to baby products, I’m a bit of a snob.  And, even if the product costs a bit more, I’m going to research it, and if it’s a better seat, I’m going for it.  All of our convertible car seats are Britax Boulevards.  I wish I owned stock in that company, and for what I’ve bought I probably could.  And, when we bought our infant carrier, the only reason we didn’t go with a Britax is because they didn’t have it in stock (but we were very happy with our Chicco).

So, when Mommy Parties and Pregnancy 2.0 gave me the opportunity to have some mommy and daddy friends over to check out  the B-Agile Stroller, B-Safe Infant Car Seat, and Britax Baby Carrier as well as the Baby Plus I went for it.

Not only is it fun to try out new things and get a lot of opinions at one time, but it’s also fun to hang out with some friends!  Daddy Mojo (and family), JaMonkey and Arianne (and daughter) along with a couple other non-bloggers were in attendance, too.  You know there are a lot of opinions when you get other bloggers there.

I had everything all set up so people could touch it, grab it feel it and try it out.  And, of course, some yummy snacks (which were a hit.  Almost everything was completely gone).

britax review.

We had a brand new baby and mom try out the Britax carrier.  She said it was very comfortable and that her little man fit perfectly in it with it set to the infant setting.  There is also an optional accessory to add an additional insert for bigger kids.  This makes the carrier more like an Ergo instead of a crotch carrier.  Forcing your child’s legs around your body and making the seat wider.  Most of us had Ergos or wraps to wear our baby in that we are fans of.  This carrier wasn’t as much our favorite.

She was also nice enough to play demo lady and show us all the Baby Plus.  This is a device that is worn on the outside of your belly while pregnant for two one-hour sessions twice a day.  It’s supposed to make your child smarter.  Arianne won this door prize and tried it out and was nice enough to write a review of the Baby Plus.

Before I started snapping pictures, everybody was trying out the stroller and car seat. They were very impressed.  The car seat is light weight and easy to carry.  And, it’s nice and bright colors.

The thing that everybody loved the most?  The stroller.  It weighs in right around 20 pounds and folds together flat.  Easily.  You reach into the seat, grab a handle, give a little tug and the seat folds in half!  (If you’ve ever seen a Baby Jogger, it’s the same idea. It is incredibly easy and efficient.  And, yes, you can do it one handed).  And, once folded, it has a little clip that keeps it folded together.  It has three wheels, and if you notice from the back, there isn’t a rear axel at good kicking location.  This is serious for Mr. Serious as a taller person. Most strollers, if he’s pushing, he has to take tiny steps so he doesn’t kick the axel.  No kicking here.

But, to accomodate for this, the rear wheels stick out a bit from the stroller. So, when you are walking around, you have to be aware that the wheels are wider than the rest of the stroller.  The seat reclines well and has a great sun/rain canopy with sneak window.  If you look under #2’s arms you’ll see the car seat adapters. These come free with the stroller and work seamlessly with the B-safe car seat.  And, once you are done with the infant seat, you can take the adapters off which also work with the Chaperone.  (there are other brands of adapters available for a couple other seats to make the stroller compatible with them).

britax b-agile and b-safe review

In addition to chatting and eating, there were also some other giveaways.  In that box, I put a bunch of baby supplies and goodies.  They were dumped out on the floor for about a minute, then collected.  Everybody wrote down what they remembered from the box, and the first and second place winners each received a Snugglebuddy.

We all had a fun time getting together and testing out these new baby products.  It’s amazing what a difference 3 years makes in the quality and options of baby items and we were all very impressed.

*Thank you to Mommy Parties and Pregnancy 2.0 for sending the Britax Stroller, Car Seat, & Baby Carrier, Baby Plus, 2 Snugglebuddies and various samples from Spry Gum with Xylitol. While I was sent these items to review and giveaway to party attendees, all thoughts are 100% my own.

  1. What a fun party, I’d love to be able and test everything out in real life before buying it… and the hassle of returning it.

    1. So true! We originally got a car seat with Iz without testing it out, and it quickly went back to the store with the stroller. We hated it! It was terrible!
