A couple weekends ago, Mr. Serious and I headed to Callaway Gardens for a night away.  It was the perfect time for us to go away as we had both been sick the week before.

Recovering at a resort?  Yes, please.

We stayed at the Mountain Creek Inn.  It was nice and cozy, but it’s definitely an older hotel.  The tiles in the bathroom cracked me up.   But, it was clean and comfy.  Plus, there were two restaurants in the Inn, so we could stay and eat there.

We arrived fairly late, so we didn’t get a chance to do any bike riding, but we checked out the beach and lake and it was very nice.  It was calm and seemed like everybody was having a great time.  We also saw the FSU flying circus.  The kids that were there really enjoyed and and so did these adults!

The next morning, we headed over to Discovery Cove for the Tree Top Tweet Up.  Of course, we had to get some pictures in.

Getting their “learn” on.  I was surprised that each person was responsible for their harness and pulley all by themselves. However, they had a great little training session and everybody figured it out very quickly.

And practicing for the circus.

The Tree Top Adventure was long.  There were three spots to get off if a person didn’t want to complete the whole course.  Those that completed it, it probably took 1.5-2 hours.  And, there is only one spot for a water break.  And, it’s hot up there!  And, a workout, too, from what I hear.

Callaway really is a beautiful place with the gardens and butterflies and bird exhibits.  We definitely think we’ll go back with the girls as they would have a great time (maybe when they sleep a little better in a hotel).

Callaway Gardens put us up for the night and fed us.  All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

  1. Sounds like this is a really neat place! Too bad I’m spending my vacation budget on Vegas this year! I mean, not *too* bad, but there’s no way I’d be able to vacation TWICE. 😉

    1. Yeah, definitely not too bad. You can probably do something similar in Vegas. You can do everything in Vegas.

  2. Looks exciting. I love doing things like these in groups as well!

    1. It’s definitely best as a group activity. You can cheer each other on!
