How to get the right car seat adapter for your stroller

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

We had a side-by-side double stroller for our older two when they were little. Then, I sold it when E was born because the older two were past stroller age. Whoops. That was a good little stroller.

For walks around the neighborhood and other outdoor places, I wanted something a little more heavy duty than our front-to-back stroller.

I reached out on Facebook (seriously, what did I do without it) and found a friend that had a Double BOB that was like new just sitting in her garage, so I got a price and went and bought that bad boy! I picked it up just in time for our niece’s visit, which was super handy!

Because wrangling a two year old and a six-month old in a neighborhood without sidewalks wasn’t in the cards.

It was very handy for that visit. But, I wanted to be able to use B’s carseat in the jogger so I could put her in it. With little research (big mistake), I got car seat adapter for the double BOB to go with our Britax car seat. Um…let’s just say it didn’t work. It turns out our stroller was much older than I thought. If you looked at it, you would never guess it was almost 10 years old!!! So the adapter worked with our car seat, but not our stroller.

So, I give you, tips to making sure your adapter will work.

Car seat adapter

1. Check the make, model and YEAR of your stroller. There should be a sticker somewhere on it giving you all of this information.

2. Check the make, model and YEAR of your car seat. Check the sides of the car seat for a sticker with this information.

3. Check the manufacturer’s website to see if they have hints and tips for getting the correct adapter.

It really is as simple as that, but I totally botched it.

Once my adapter arrived, I realized this mistake and only then consulted the BOB website and found they have information in place to cross-check both the car seat and the stroller. And, they actually have this in place for both the double BOB strollers and single strollers.

This is the BOB single with the single Graco car seat adapter. Thank you to a kind lady at church that let me grill her about hers!

Should you be looking for a carseat adapter for your BOB Double stroller, if your stroller is before 2011, you’ll need the universal adapter (but check to make sure it works with your newer carseat). If your BOB Double stroller is new, you will need an adapter specific to your car seat. You can find one for Graco (SnugRide, SnugRide 30 Classic Connect), Chicco, Peg Perego and Britax.

Or, you know, if you have two kids that have walked around Disneyland for several days, you can let them sit in your stroller. No car seat adapters required!

(Of course, I just received word that BOB has refreshed its popular Revolution SE stroller to create two new models: the Revolution PRO (includes a new handlebar that adjusts to nine different positions to create the perfect fit for any parent’s height. In addition, the stroller is now equipped with hand-activated rear drum brakes for added control to conquer hills and inclines) and the Revolution FLEX (adjustable handlebar to accommodate every parent’s stature).)
