The SATC2 soundtrack features the voices of some very famous singers, Alicia Keys, Dido, Erykah Badu and more.  In fact, the SATC ladies even sing a song on the CD.

My thoughts?  I haven’t seen the movie yet, so maybe that plays a part.  It’s hard to get into the music.  So much of it sounds middle eastern or Moroccan with a lot of different instruments in the background and odd unfamiliar effects to the music.

I’m thinking, that the music has to go better in the context of the movie.  And, then, maybe listening to the soundtrack will bring you back to those moments.  Because, the soundtrack?  Didn’t work for me so much.

I was a little bummed because there are so many artists that I really enjoy listening to, but in this element, I’m not really a fan.

Our girls LOVE music.  They love to dance, and clap, and play instruments and MOVE!  So, I was excited for the chance to watch juno baby: Juno’s Rhythm Adventure.

Juno baby is born from the original orchestral compositions of Belinda Takahaski, Ph.D.  The idea behind this DVD is that music is a universal language.  It brings people together from all over the world and of all different ages.  The idea is to help our little ones have even more appreciation for music.

As predicted, my girls loved the DVD.  Anytime there is music on, they are dancing and having a great time.  It inspired them to gather their own instruments and start playing, too.  We’ve had quite a few band sessions in our house!

I recently received The Birth of Cornelius CD by Corneille.

I'm surprised to say that I really enjoy this CD. It is very easy to listen to and quite relaxing. And modern (with references to iPods). Even better? I could listen to it with the kiddos around because there wasn't any cussing or swearing.

I would consider the sound a mixture of Lenny Kravitz and Marvin Gaye. Music you just listen to when you want to "chill." (Do people even still use that word?)

Corneille was born to Rwandan parents in Germany. Soon after his birth, he and his family moved back to Rwanda. His entire family was killed in Rwanda during the genocide in 1994. He was able to escape and eventually made it to some family friends. What an amazing story for such an amazing artist.
