It’s finally been nice enough for us to enjoy the backyard and the swings.
The girls could swing all day and be happy, happy campers.

Me, I can only do it for about 2 minutes before I get dizzy and have to stop.
For more Wordless and Wordful Wednesdays, head over to Seven Clown Circus and Two of a Kind.

In my Mommy and Me Monday this week, I told you I’d let you know about Natalie’s incident.
You see, she got in a fight at the playground.
And she lost.
Bad.

I’m pretty sure she left a bit of her face behind that day.
That rubber stuff they put on the surface of the playground apparently holds sand really well. So, not only did her face scoot along the rubber, but it also rubbed across the sand. Basically, my baby has road rash on a quarter of her face.
The good thing is, she’s a trooper. She cried for less than a minute, and then she went right back to playing. And, she hasn’t been bothered since.
The bad thing is today is her 18 month birthday and we will always have that little reminder of her first “fight.”
In all seriousness, she’s really doing quite well with it, and it is healing very nicely.

Head over to Angie’s place to see more Wordful Wednesdays. Because, I’m not the only one that can’t keep my mouth shut!

Lately, when Iz starts whining and throwing a fit, I remind her that babies do that because they can’t talk. She can use words and communicate.
If she continues, I remind her that babies sleep in cribs. I threaten her with putting her in a crib like her sister.
Crap.

Apparently, she doesn’t think cribs are bad.

“What’s the big deal? So what if I climbed in here with my sister?”

{This particular morning, Izzy heard Nat awake and walked into her room. By the time we got in there, she had climbed in. I have no idea how she did it, and to be honest, I really don’t want to know. I hope her sister wasn’t watching, though.}

*unless of course they try to eat them, because that’s really, really bad.
We went out for dinner. To a real restaurant. With both kids. It doesn’t happen often.
And, it was just what we needed.
After dinner, the wonderful, genius waitress bought us 10 more minutes at the table by bringing us some fabulous balloons.
In fact, it bought us at least 20 minutes of fun at home, too.
Playing hide “balloon head Izzy.”

And, then “peek-a-boo.”

Followed by “reach for the sky.”

And then, “I almost got it” (times two if you look in the back).

Shortly after, some “I see you.”

With a quick shot with mommy and “you can’t see me through this blue balloon.”

The look of the “determined balloon catcher.”

And, a baby gazing at her momma.

So thankful for those extra balloon minutes at our house. They sure made us all cheery.
So, maybe I should call balloons “family-crack.”
