A couple weekends ago, our sister and brother-in-law came to visit with our almost 3 year old nephew.
Our house is not huge, so we had to figure out sleeping arrangements for him. We decided to give him Izzy’s room and the girls would share Natalie’s room. Izzy got a queen air mattress on the floor…the girls thought it was a bounce house!
The first night went okay. Natalie was asleep before we put Izzy to bed. This was the best option.
The next two nights? Not so great.
Natalie screamed a lot. She kept saying "no, no, no, no, no" and then screaming it.
Isabelle was yelling through the door "mommy, Natalie’s awake." "Mommy, Natalie’s crying." It.was.fun.
Despite my better judgment, I brought Izzy in our room. She said "Mommy, it’s too loud in there."
Touché, Izzy, touché.
She proceeded to kick me, poke me and mess with me. And, even with all of this, Natalie was still screaming her head off. She finally passed out, so I brought a very awake Izzy back into the room to sleep.
They sure are cute when they work together and help each other. But, man this sleeping in the same room business is tough.
That Monday, we found out Natalie had a double ear infection, so maybe that was part of it. And, hopefully, when we give the room sharing a go again, it will go much better.
Tell me it will go better, please!
