Eleven Shoes is the sister company to SeeKaiRun (which we love). They make similar shoes for bigger kids (ages 3 to 8). The are made of soft leather uppers with a flexible, yet durable sole.
The also feature a cushioned insole and easy to use Velcro or zipper closures on all of their shoes. The colors are vibrant and fun, too!
Serious Tested: We chose the Chloe in berry (both Mr. Serious and I independently chose the same shoes, too). The shoes are stylish and fun. They go with almost all of #1’s outfits, too. I like how brightly colored they are, yet not too flashy. The perfect level of cute.
As soon as they arrived, I opened up the box and showed them to #1. She is a shoe girl. She loves all shoes. But, she really loves these. The leather is really soft, and she never complains about them (which she sometimes does with her other shoes).
They are very true to size. We ordered a 10 and they are only a little bit big in the length. The width of the shoes is wider than what we would normally get, but the Velcro closure goes almost the entire length of the strap allowing #1 to pull the strap further to tighten them up. In the picture on the left, you can see where there is a little space between her foot and the edges of the shoes.
The soles are very strong yet flexible which allows her to move around in a non-restrictive way. She was even practicing her jumping with them on.
I was worried about the fronts/toes getting scuffed up as that is usually the place #1 wears down her shoes. So far, I haven’t noticed a scratch on them.
Most importantly, #1 continues to exude confidence and loves the shoes. Every time I tell her or remind her to put her shoes on, these are now the first pair she goes to. (Um, yeah…..who taught her this model pose?)
In fact, #2 even grabs them up every chance she gets and puts them on and wobbles around in them (it’s a bummer that See Kai Run doesn’t carry the same style in their shoes, too, so we could get them matching).
Improvements: It would be nice if they offered varied widths of shoes as I know children’s feet come in both all sizes and shapes. I’d also like to see some matching pairs between the sister companies (because our girls love to be “matchy-matchy.”
