Keeping our nice things nice

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

Being a mom of three small children, we don’t have a lot of nice things. It’s totally okay with us. We aren’t nice things people, and our kids are tough on stuff.

But, the couple nice things we do have, we want to keep in good shape. That includes our bedroom furniture which was our first real grown up purchase (see that nice bed there?). Our nice wood furniture that should be dusted and polished regularly. Design star Tracy Hutson says it should be simple furniture beauty routine which includes: cleansing, polishing and, of course, covering those tiny imperfections. The secret to beautiful furniture is simple… “Stop Cleaning. Start Caring™”

Guardsman dusting cloths

Guardsman has a line of products geared at caring for your furniture including the Ultimate Dusting Cloth, sprayless and odorless cloth. The 100% cotton flannel, lint-free cloths are specially treated to be tough enough to trap dust to remove allergens, yet gentle enough for scratch-free results. Each cloth is hand washable and reusable for added convenience.

The cloths are quite large and can be used with your hand or even tucked into a floor duster. We have one that uses a washable cloth cover, but it’s nice that now I have another set of cloths to cover it and get to cleaning. I used it on furniture, but it could go on the floor, and even be used on picture frames and ceiling fans.

I used the Guardsman Ultimate Dusting Cloth to dust off our headboard (one of those places that I don’t think to dust off). It’s hard to see the dust there, but this is before I swiped the cloth over it.

See, there really was some dust there. Eww!

We aren’t nice things people either, but I must admit I should dust more often. I like these dusting cloths b/c they are flannel. Mosft of the dusting cloths I find are microfiber and I don’t like touching microfiber. It hurts my hands. Weird, I know.

    1. I know what you mean about microfiber…it feels like it sucks any moisture off my hands.

  2. Dusting is one of those things I never seem to get to. With 2 little boys (2 years old and 10 months old) there is usually more pressing cleaning to be done. I should dust more often though, those cloths look really nice. I hate it when your cleaning cloth leaves lint all over everything!

    1. I hear you on the dusting..or lack of, 5, 3 and 7 weeks are my girls’ ages!

  4. wow, that’s really nice, i wish we also have some products for review here in our place, too sad we don’t have.

thanks for the visit and it’s really awesome to see babies.

    1. I sure hate it, too! These are pretty nice and easy to use.

      Thanks!

  5. We just inherited a bunch of wood furniture. I can only hope I manage to keep up with the maintenance once baby arrives.

    1. Good luck! And, if you don’t..it’s only dust and it’s only furniture:)
