Digital Baby Monitor Made Easy

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

After having a video baby monitor, I can’t go back! I’m addicted to spying on my babies. No, it’s not really spying. It’s fun to watch them sort of play with their feet, rub their blankets on their faces or sing themselves to sleep.

The Gynoii Wifi Video Baby Monitor has been my newest device to try out.

The most notable and district features of which are the time-lapse recording and built-in social sharing. The videos and snapshots are saved right to the camera roll on my phone as well as showing in the app. Gone are the days of using my phone to take a picture of a monitor. Now I just take a picture right in my app and it’s stored right there. So, I can send a text message to anybody I’d like letting them know my baby is super adorable when she’s sleeping!

The Gynoii monitor was very easy to set up in about 60 seconds with just a one page direction sheet. In addition to the camera (which you put on your wireless network), you also get a stand or wall mount and a clamp you can use to hook onto a shelf.

One is mounted to a picture frame in one room and the other is mounted on my curtain rod. I then was able to hide the extra long power cord behind the curtain and hook it out of reach.

The monitor is surprisingly small yet pretty clear on my phone or iPad.

In the dark (we use black out shades in all of our rooms, because sleep is important), the infrared night vision kicks in so you can still see your baby. And, seriously, I swear she knows I’m watching sometimes. Like when she looks at the camera and waves?

Another feature I really like is that I can use it when I’m not home. I click on the app on my phone and it automatically connects and I can see what is going on. So, I go with the hubby for a date night and leave the kiddos.

During the date, I can pop on the monitor to make sure the grandparents aren’t fibbing and that B really is sleeping! Thankfully, she was! And, while Mr. Serious and I were out, we could either leave the iPad for the grandparents or have them sign into our account using the app on their own phones so we could both use the monitor simultaneously.

Now, there is one limitation and it’s kind of a big one. The camera doesn’t pan or tilt. So, you have to make sure to position the camera just at the right angle to capture your baby because you can’t adjust it. I hope that a newer version allows for this.

Some other features:
