Trying to teach the girls to do hand glasses is no easy feat. The oldest two were a little confused but got it, but weren’t obliging for pictures.

The younger two were intrigued and confused.

E wanted to partake in it and B was just done sitting with mommy. She had places to go and things to do.

The arm twist was difficult for E, so we had fun with her version of hand glasses.

It’s really hard when you can’t see. Luckily, my lack of vision is only when I don’t have my contacts in or my glasses on. I’ve been wearing glasses since 6th grade and the hubby has been wearing them since 4th grade. We are just waiting for a time when the girls need them (but hoping they don’t!). These hand glasses are trying to help bring attention to OneSight’s mission to provide access to vision care globally.

What is OneSight?

OneSight is an independent nonprofit committed to eradicating the global vision care crisis. Their promise is simple: they will not stop until the world can see.

Their mission is to provide access to eye exams and glasses to underserved communities around the world. This is done this through quality short-term care and long-term sustainable solutions.

In 27 years, OneSight has helped 9 million people in 41 countries and 47 states see clearly.

More than 1,000 trained volunteers and doctors travel the globe to staff OneSight Clinics and teach local residents as part of our commitment to transfer skills and build sustainable infrastructures in underserved communities.

OneSight and Deloitte have collaborated to bring this problem into focus. They released a study that reveals a startling finding: 1.1 billion people around the world need glasses but don’t yet have access to vision care. That’s 1 in 7 of us!

Want to help?

You can donate to help the cause by visiting onesight.org. Even $1 makes a difference for the 1.1 billion without access to vision care. You can post your own hand glasses photo on social media with the hashtag #HelpTheWorldSee to bring attention to OneSight’s mission.

What were you up to this week? Think you can share your hand glasses picture?

Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. I really don’t like wearing my glasses, but this time of year, I end up leaning on them because of my allergies!

    1. I can’t either. I don’t like it when I can’t see the alarm clock in the middle of the night.

  3. Those hand glasses are tough for me to do…E’s look great! It will be interesting to see if the girls need glasses since both you and Papa Bear have worn them.
