Early, early, early | WW

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

Saturday, I got up early.  Like earlier than I’ve set an alarm for in quite some time. 5:45am! I had to be downtown by 6:45 to check-in. And, I had to bring E with me (that silly girl still demands eating). (Yes, I took a nap after, too!)

I was up so early to do the American Heart Association Heart Walk (5K). The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premiere event that brings communities together to raise funds and celebrate progress in the fight against this country’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers, heart disease and stroke

We were #up way too early this morning for the #atlheartwalk team @jennycraig.

We walked to remind people and us to keep our hearts healthy. E and I walked with Jenny Craig Brand Ambassador, and actress Bre’ly Evans and Meghan (@JaMonkey). And, it’s not just your heart, because it’s all connected;  maintaining a healthy weight can positively impact risk factors including blood pressure and cholesterol management, blood sugar levels and BMI.

What’s super crazy and scary is that current research* surveys show that less than 1 percent of Americans are in “ideal heart health,” as defined by the AHA, so we need to improve our weight and improve our health. Jenny Craig is supporting the American Heart Association’s mission to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent by 2020

  4. Go you!!

That’s so scary that less than 1% of us have ideally perfect hearts.

I have to smile because running does make you crazy, you know… in a good way. I get up most days at 5:30 to hit the treadmill for 5 miles and then back home before anyone is up to pack lunches. I use to run outside, but dang it, it’s really dark at 6am anymore.

Kudos to you for taking E with you, I don’t *love* to run with my E… but I *will* 😉

    1. Oh, I should mention I walked it. I can’t run. My knees hate me after. So, I just walked and gabbed the whole time.

And since E wakes me up at around 3am to eat, there is no 5:30 alarm just yet.

I need to get more active myself!!

  7. Thank you for doing this! Wow, less than 1 %? That really is super shocking to me. I am glad you did this because it is an awesome motivation to me to get moving! I need to get fit!

    1. I really need to get moving more, too. But, that 3am nursing baby is really making it hard.
