A sleek and minimalistic wallet

Over the years, my purses and wallets have been both extremes. Huge and tiny. But, one thing remains. I always like to be able to grab my wallet and have everything I need in a pinch (quick run to the store, quick run to the Emergency room). Just the everyday things.

My wallet was huge. And when they are huge, they tend to collect “stuff”. Random stuff. Making it hard for me to find my money or my ID.

I remember seeing the HuMn wallet going around when it was a Kickstarter project. Well, now, it’s in full bloom and I was very excited they offered to send me one to check out. Not to mention the chemist in me loves the logo using the look of elements from the periodic table.

Right off the bat, I realized how thin the HuMn wallet really is. It arrived in a little more than a standard sized envelope. It is composed of one, two or three powder coated aluminum plates with a shock strap and a variety of colors for the ultimate in customization. Mine is all black with a black shock strap, which is actually what I would have picked. Simple and not flashy.

Why aluminum? The aluminum plates protect you from electronic theft by shielding your credit cards from EMI and RFID skimming. You know we aren’t credit card users, but we still have and use our bank debit card and HSA debit card. If those were skimmed we’d be in serious trouble.

To open it, you push your thumbs on the side tabs and push them away from teach other, and the wallet opens like a V. Then I slid my ID and insurance card in the front section, and debit and HSA card in the back. If I wanted to, I could have shoved all of my membership cards and frequent shopper cards right in there. No problem. It’s super flexible and accommodating to your needs.

Then, I popped my dollars right in the front of the shock band (but it is meant to accommodate almost all world notes.) Easy access for everything and no place to put all of the extra stuff.

I can grab it quickly and run out the door, or it can sit safely in my regular purse or a clutch with a bottle of eye drops and my phone.

There is also the HuMn 2 which comes in an over-the-top carbon fiber version.

It’s a very handy, sleek and minimalistic wallet that is perfect for both men and women. For men, it was designed to be easily placed in the front pocket where the chance of it being stolen is significantly decreased. And, still holds everything they need right at their fingertips.

This would make an awesome present for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. You can customize the colors and make it fit for just the right individual.
