I received a líllébaby® COMPLETE™ to facilitate this review. All thoughts are 100% my own, and I wouldn’t tell you about it if I didn’t like it. A lot!
In the past 7 years, I’ve tried out quite a few carriers. I don’t think I ever proclaimed to have a favorite and I feel that they each have their own purpose. Plus, I like to have one in each car, and one at the house for walks. So, they all get used.
But, since trying out the líllébaby® COMPLETE™, I’ve decided I have a new favorite. If you follow me on instagram and twitter, you might have noticed! Immediately when I pulled it out of the box, I noticed how lightweight (Only 1.34 lbs. = 0.61 kg and soft (made with luxurious 100% Brushed Organic Cotton) it is.
Then I put it on. I could barely tell I was wearing it. It’s fabulous because you can use it from your baby weighing 7 lbs-45lbs (which means, I could technically carry my 5.5 year old in it). The only thing you might need to do is add a blanket to use the wide seat. (Here she’s in the wide seat with a blanket for a seat, with the neck support and hood up).
I’ve used it with all of the carries, and they each have their purpose. This one is the fetal carry position with a blanket rolled up between her legs making a little seat. This seems to be the most comfortable for B (three months here).
In this picture, I don’t have the neck support up, but it is a great option. With it down, she can look around, with it up, it gently cradles her head against me, but isn’t snug that she fights against it.
Notice the little buckle at my neck, it’s attached with a stretchy piece of fabric that can be tucked into the shoulder strap and virally unseen. Or you can slide it to the side, and it buckles to the neck support.
We’ve also tried out the infant seat facing in with the narrow setting. (I had a really hard time looking at the diagrammed directions to figure out how to make the seat narrow. So, I will suggest you check out their adjusting of the seat youtube video, and you will have your “aha moment.”
When we were in Disneyland, this carrier was amazing. It was easy to take off and put on by myself. My husband (6’3”) was even able to wear it when I did the runDisney fun run and B was pretty happy. Considering that I’m only 5’5” it’s pretty amazing that all we had to do was slide a couple buckles and it worked for him, too.
One evening, E (2 years old) was done and ready to go to bed, but the older two wanted to stay for the light show. I put the littlest in the carseat and put E on my back in the líllébaby® COMPLETE™ and she was happy as a clam. She loves being worn still, but despises being in the stroller. If I had both carriers that day, I would have worn them both back to the hotel. Life saver!
It also has the ability to do a ergonomic front-facing carry and hip carry allowing for 6 different carry options.
One of my favorite features? The lumbar support. It helps the strap in the back from feeling like it’s cutting into my skin, and it distributes baby’s weight so much. It seriously is such an easy addition and yet so amazing! You can also see that her weight is evenly distributed across my shoulders and hips. Those squishy shoulder pads are 3 inches (7.5 cm) wide by 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick of premium foam which I think feel like pillows. And, with all of the use and folding and squishing, they are still just as padded as ever. I haven’t tried it, but should you want to, the shoulder straps are actually long enough to criss-cross on your back to make it more like a backpack carry.
B went all over Disneyland and California adventure, at LAX and ATL airports with great ease. I was even able to breastfeed her in the carrier at our hotel registration after a long day of travel. It was very discrete and hands free. And we were both comfortable.
One day, she was really struggling to nap, so I put her in the líllébaby® COMPLETE™ and walked around Downtown Disney. At first, I just had the neck support up and once she got drowsy and fell asleep, I easily reached down and put up the hood to shield her little almost bald head from the glorious California sun (seriously….look at that….can I go back?)
Most of the time, she was so quiet and comfy that people didn’t even realize there was a baby in there. (Here, you can see the neck support up and holding up her head without the hood on.)
If there was anything I would like to see improved, it’s that I would like to see a pocket on it to throw a diaper and a couple wipes in. Or even a spot for a little wallet. But, that’s not a deal breaker at all!
It’s safe to say the líllébaby® COMPLETE™ is definitely my favorite carrier. It’s the one I go to and grab the most. I like how it’s so lightweight, easy to use, soft, adjustable and versatile. In fact, I already know of one person that scooped one up after I posted about them because I like it that much.
