You’ve seen my introduction to the LÍLLÉbaby Essentials, but I know when a new carrier comes out, there are a lot of questions about how it compares to other carriers. So, a comparison it is. (You’ve probably seen my LÍLLÉbaby Complete Versus LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn versus Tula Toddler comparison).

In my arsenal, I have the new LÍLLÉbaby Essentials, the LÍLLÉbaby Complete and the ERGObaby Original. If words aren’t your thing, scroll down to the bottom for a super helpful chart with all of the numbers and data. If you have another question, ask here and I’ll be happy to answer! For reference, my daughter is 21 months, about 33 inches and about 26 pounds.

LÍLLÉbaby Essentials

You can get the full scoop on the LÍLLÉbaby Essentials on my full post with video. Basically, it’s all the awesome with a tiny price tag ($90); PFAs, three-way adjustable straps, 4-carries (front, back, hip and infant with insert coming early 2016), dual pocket, attached mesh hood, dual pockets and the ability to cross the straps. The Essentials allows up to 45 pounds. It’s very comfortable and very easy to adjust. You can purchase an additional lumbar support if interested. You won’t sacrifice comfort or quality with the LÍLLÉbaby Essentials.

LÍLLÉbaby Complete

You can get a lof of info on the LÍLLÉbaby Complete in that comparison post as well. It doesn’t have PFAs, but has a neck/head support that effectively makes the panel height taller. The Complete has a narrow and wide seat with the wide seat slightly wider than the seat of the Essentials. The Complete allows for 6 positions of carrying. It also has two-way adjustable straps and the ability to cross them. You can carry up to a 45 pound child in the Complete. It comes with a coordinating lumbar support. The Complete has a hood that is removable or can be placed in the hood pocket as well as a zippered larger pocket on the panel. The starting price is $120 up to $170.

ERGObaby Original

My ERGObaby Original was my go-to carrier with my second daughter. In fact, I used to say I loved it. Once I got my LÍLLÉbaby, I never used it again, except to take these pictures. And, I remembered why. The ERGObaby has a narrower seat and shorter panel than both of the above LÍLLÉbaby carriers. You can do 4 carries with it (front, back, hip and infant with insert) for up to 45 pounds. You can also cross the straps, but it is much harder because the webbing is on the body of the carrier instead of the straps. The straps are also only one-way adjustable so it’s much harder to tighten with a back carry. The ERGObaby doesn’t have a lumbar support option but does have an attached hood with hood pocket as well as a larger zippered pocket. The price is $120-$140.
