When it comes to mornings, especially during the week, I’m pretty consistent with what gets me going. Usually, it’s the kids. Sometimes, it’s a nice, gentle “good morning, mommy” and other times, it’s a little more intense. It’s a good thing they have cute little faces!
It’s also a true story that some mornings, like when I was in Seattle with my oldest two girls, I ate Thai food for breakfast. It didn’t even strike me as weird. Lately, I’m not a traditional breakfast food person.
This week, B and I went to RaceTrac’s Test Kitchen to learn more about whatever gets other people going and to try out some new items in their kitchen. Surprisingly, after doing some research, RaceTrac found that their most popular items from 5-10am were hot dogs (1 of their top 2 selling items) and fountain drinks (not coffee).
It got them thinking that there is no judgment, get what you need, and what makes you happy AND share that with the world, so they started #WhateverGetsYouGoing.
I think it’s probably no surprise that donuts, yogurt parfaits and Italian Ices get B going. (Okay, she also had a hot dog, too…we were there a while!)
She’s a big fan of Swirl World (really, who isn’t?). I’m thrilled they have non-dairy options, and I’ve driven to RaceTrac on several occasions just to get myself a frozen treat!
In the morning, you might want a diet coke and a hotdog instead of an egg sandwich. Some people get up early to tend to their children, others get up for a jog. Whatever it is, RaceTrac wants you to proudly share it with the world! Another person there with us said he visits every morning for an empanada. My oldest girls would devour a kolache.
B and I enjoyed so much from the RaceTrac Test Kitchen. It might not be good for me that there is one so close with even more options. Their potato chips are amazing!
From sandwiches, to snack trays, to made-to-order pizzas to donuts and candy to roller food (like hot dogs, taquitos, and tamales) to their own custom made and created potato chips; Whatever gets you going in the morning, embrace it and enjoy it. And while you are enjoying it, share it on social media, too and show your friends.
What gets you going every day?
All this to say, JUST GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Who cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT!
Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!
It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.
