The ice from last week? It lasted. And lasted. Not so much for us, but the northern parts of our county still had ice on their roads. We are a county ill-equiped for icy roads, so school gets cancelled (or sometimes delayed). In fact, we were cancelled two days this week.
So, what is a mom to do with 4 kids at home when they can get around safely in their neighborhood and the southern part of the county?
Well, we go to the YMCA (that was open with extra childcare hours) and then venture to IKEA! The last time we went, they didn’t have kids eat free. This time? They did. So, we had lunch, met Mr. Serious and got the older two girls new beds (apparently, loft beds are totally out…especially after seeing how hot it was up there.)
After lunching and checking the beds we thought we wanted to get, we stopped to take a picture on the stairs. Apparently, B is back to her “no pictures” phase.
Even if I try to snuggle in and ask for a kiss. A big fat “nope.”
Later in the week, the big two and I assembled one of the beds, and Mr. Serious and the girls assembled the others. THEY. ARE. SO. HEAVY! Three boxes for each bed. Two of them have to be over 150 pounds. Getting them upstairs was no joke, but we got it done.
And, the happy kids say we made the right decision. (Please let this work for a long time! We aren’t doing this again!)
What did you do this week?
All this to say, JUST GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Who cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT! Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!
It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.
