The Aquarium for the 7th Anniversary of Mommy and Me Monday | 367th ed
The Georgia Aquarium is our thing for Mommy and Me Monday it seems! Our very first Mommy and Me Monday happened there SEVEN YEARS AGO THIS WEEK! It’s kind of crazy to see the biggest two this little! But there were were taking a picture of the three of us for our very first one!
Since then, we’ve had a lot of other visits to the Georgia Aquarium for Mommy and Me Monday. It’s fun to take a trip down memory lane to see us all grow and change so much! And, it’s also fun to go to the aquarium!
Here we are seven years later. Looking, well, as good as we can look these days! It’s like wrangling snakes sometimes. And at least one person is never happy.
There are a lot of out-takes, but I figure this captures what is going on in our lives better than anything else, so here they go! (And yes the girls know these pictures go up every week and ask if they are going to be featured!)
Thankfully, we got one with more smiles and a giant penguin AND daddy, so I call that a huge win for Mommy and Me Monday!
Sometimes, it’s hard to believe that I’ve done something (besides being a wife and mom) for seven years, but here’s the proof. And, I’m hoping that they will continue to be happy with me jumping in the picture at least once a week. And if not, well, they get the behind the scenes pictures with mommy doing her thing!
Who knew when I had this crazy idea seven years ago that I would actually stick with it. The participants have ebbed and flowed (remember when I had like 40 people linking up a week….yeah, probably not), but I’m in it for my girls and I hope they look back one day and realize how awesome it is.
What did you do this week?
GET IN THE PICTURE WITH YOUR KIDS! Who cares what you look like? Who cares how you appear? Who cares what you are wearing? JUST DO IT! Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!
It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.  Need another reason to participate in Mommy and Me Monday? Read my post about why I blog with words from a friend’s husband.
Oh man that first picture. I never really saw the extreme resemblance with your kiddos but I is going to be your clone. I cannot get over how much you guys look alike! Congrats on 7 years. That is awesome. So cool that it ended up in the same place it started too.
People most often tell me that she and I are twins. I hope she thinks it’s a good thing!
Thanks for the weekly reminder to get into the photo w/ your children.
What a blessing to have your first photo from 7 years ago and to see how much your girls have grown.
I hope it’s reminding people even though they are no longer linking up!
Crazy that it’s been 7 years!
I love seeing a photo of your family 7 years ago. What a great idea for family photos
Thank you, Tara! We enjoy doing it!
Omggeeeeee they were so little!! I love that George got everyone to smile big… he was such a ham. Congrats on SEVEN years!
Sooooo little! I can’t even remember it sometimes!
So glad George brought smiles because sometimes those make B scream her head off!
Love that you have done this for 7 years! I realized soon after my son was born that I was hardly in any photos. My mom commented the same was true for her (sure enough, my baby book proves it). So I started handing over the camera to my husband or anyone to get a photo of me so I would be in my son’s scrapbooks and photo albums. Nowadays I take a lot of selfies too. Whatever – it proves we moms existed, right? 🙂
I think I have two pictures of me with my mom from growing up. Granted it was harder to get and develop pictures, but I didn’t want that.
And, yes, they need to know we were there (and the ones that packed the food and their bags and cooked them dinner!)
Thanks for joining in!
Oh, I can totally relate to one child being upset in a picture. I have one child that is NOT cooperative with pictures and it is a REAL struggle to get a good picture of her, let alone get my other two children to cooperate in the picture too. I love you are trying to get in the pictures with your kids. That is so important!

And, you saw that it was the same one in the Portrait Innovations pictures, too! Granted, here, the 8 yo is less than impressed, too.
