Do you ever have the intentions of doing something and then totally forgetting? Well, that was me for our Stone Mountain Park trip. We were treated to a visit a few weeks, and as usual, we had a great time.

The girls and I met Mr. Serious after work and were going to do a couple activities before heading to dinner and then waiting on the new laser show. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate and pretty much everything was closed down due to lightning within a 10 mile radius. We made the most of it and hit up the air conditioned barn instead of riding to the top of the mountain.

The girls and I were able to catch a slide together.

Once the weather cleared, the oldest two and daddy made an attempt at Sky Hike. While they were waiting in line, I had B in the carrier and E was adventuring on the mini-Sky Hike area. She really does think she’s at least 7 most days.

We grabbed some dinner and hung out in front of the Mountain before the show. The engraving seems so small here, but it’s really humongous. They tell you on the gondola up how big it is, and there is some mention about 8 school buses, but now I can’t remember what it is the size of.

As dusk got closer, we headed to our reserved seats on the terrace. Once the kids saw the bubble man, it was time to get up. This guy makes his own bubble solution and the biggest bubbles I’ve ever seen. They are so big, they change shapes in the air! And, if they pop over your head, you will get soaked.

Can we just talk about the fact that my oldest is looking old here? Like I had to scroll back several times to figure out who was holding B.  They were patiently waiting right before the laser show started.

For 2014, the idea is More Lights, More Lasers and More Music!

The addition of an overhead laser canopy effect now immerses guests as if they are a part of the show. Additionally, laser mirror bounce shots from all directions on the lawn create the effect of lasers jumping over guests’ heads. Plus, guests will love the updated music playlist featuring 10 new songs including “Let It Go” by Idina Menzel, to “Home” by Phillip Philips and Pharrell Williams’ cheery hit titled “Happy.”Stone Mountain Park’s Lasershow Spectacular is an Atlanta tradition and is the longest running lasershow in the world (now in its 31st year). The show features year). The show features 45 minutes of dazzling fireworks, lights and laser effects all choreographed to great music year.

It started off right away with Happy and everybody started moving. You could feel the energy. And, the fireworks throughout were fun and loud and exciting. I was glad none of the girls were scared by them.

At one point, they feature the colleges in Georgia. The girls yelled “mommy, there’s the bee. That’s the bee from where you went to school!” Well, they were close! But, I did take a picture like they requested and it came out surprisingly well for a picture of lights projected on the side of a mountain.

If you come to Atlanta, you have to check out Stone Mountain Park and stay late for the laser show, too. It’s a fun night out!

(As a tip, if you just want to see the laser show, you can pay to park and stay for the laser show free of charge, making it a $10 night. You can also bring in your own food/cooler if you want to picnic before the show!)

*Thank you to Stone Mountain Park for hosting us. All thoughts are my own.

**There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies. If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link. It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.**

I try to make sure and visit all of you and leave some comment love.  Please spread the love!  And, I never mind the comments, either:)
