“My Awesome Room!”

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

The girls have now been sharing a room for almost a month.  It’s been interesting.

Bedtime goes pretty well, but nap time?  Well, we haven’t had a successful one, yet.  It involves one sister (the singer, talker, disturber aka culprit) moving into the other room to sleep on the floor.  Apparently, this isn’t consequence enough because we are still having to do it.

They think it’s going perfectly, and I couldn’t be more pleased with that.

While looking through the numero uno‘s school work, I discovered a gem of artwork.

It says “My awesome room” and shows a picture of the two beds.  What?  You can’t tell they are beds?

I guess I haven’t shared pictures of their room since they’ve started bunking together, literally.  So, here you go.

I think the pictures match pretty well, right?

They really do love their room.  And, I’m looking forward to them going straight to sleep (or at least me not hearing them)!

I’m linking up here.  Go and visit their Wordful and Wordless Wednesdays.

  1. What a cool idea for kids that have to share a room. I like their beds.

    1. They are liking it..but we still have had no naptime success..hopefully it’s coming soon.

    1. I think it was the day we moved everything in. Trust me, it’s not so clean…but at the same time, there aren’t a lot of toys in there, either.

    1. Thank goodness, or else there would be a kid sleeping on a couch or sharing with a newborn.

  2. The drawing is so cute – she even drew a window! How are they doing in their new beds? I love how it gives them more room to play.

    1. They are loving their new beds (except the naptime with the youngest is a little hairy, but I don’t think the bed has anything to do with it).

Yes, a lot more room for dressers, too.

  3. Super cute! I am trying to talk my husband into a high bed for my daughter so I can free up some space in her room!

    1. My hubby was all for them (until he realized he’s the sheet changer), but really it’s not bad. We got them here: http://www.collegebedlofts.com They make them in the US and they are real wood instead of that particle junk. Or if your husband is handy, they sell directions, too!

The girls love them and it’s really opened up their room a lot. I don’t know where the two dressers would go without them.

    1. It is nice…it does stink that cuddling them is a little harder.

  4. So great they love it! My boys have bunk beds. My oldest has claimed the bottom and my 5 year old isn’t quite so sure about sleeping on top. Which is why he usually still finds himself in my bed. But we’ll get there.

    1. The reason I couldn’t do bunkbeds? I was worried they would fight over the top bunk. Funny that your oldest has the bottom. Hopefully, he finds a way to enjoy it, soon. Or maybe they can take turns?

  5. Quick! Copyright that drawing! It’s destined to be a classic (in your heart at least!!). I know this isn’t your point but I don’t get the allure to kids of sleeping other places — my daughter went through a period a few years back of sleeping the GUEST ROOM – and slowly items from her room were moving there until she was half in her original room and half in the guest room. And don’t get me started on my 12 year old son and his love of the couch instead of his bed. Kids! And I was an only child so I really can’t wax all rhapsodic about the joys of siblings in the same room. But I think hubs, the oldest of six, may have definite opinions!!

    1. I don’t get it either. For the most part, they were/are the best sleepers in their own rooms and their own beds.

Sleeping in the same room? It’s nice if you get spooked or something, but otherwise, I think you end up staying up late chatting!

    1. I know. I had no idea they were going to be THAT high! But, they like them.

  6. it is a totally awesome room.

reminds me of my college dorm room…awww loft beds 🙂

    good times.

  7. This is the most precious picture ever. So funny.

    Kindness is the best accessory,
    Rebecca

    1. Thanks! It totally warmed my heart when I saw the drawing and realized how much she loves it.

  8. It is really awesome, I agree. I have been thinking about getting bunk beds for the kids. It is such a space saver

    1. The reason I didn’t do bunks..I was worried about the fighting over the top. This way, they have their own!

  9. That is such a great idea – 2 loft beds! I bet they have fun with those beds. I can tell how proud she is of her room, to share it at school!

    1. It helps because we don’t have to worry about them fighting over who gets the top..and to be honest, it wasn’t that much more expensive than the bunkbed options we liked.
