My hypothesis: Your kids will love Annedroids

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

Up until very recently, the girls were mostly about animated shows. Then, I showed them Annedroids, Amazon Studios’ third original kids series, is aimed at children ages 4-7 on Prime Instant Video.

Usually, when I try to show them a new program, I’m met with hesitation as they like to warm up to them, but not this time. While the younger two girls were napping and the older two were playing, I turned the TV on and got settled in to check out Annedroids, because science and girls and kids! All of my favorite things! Of course, my girls immediately came over to join me.

I didn’t tell them anything about the show, just that it was new and I wanted to check it out.

We immediately get to meet Nick who runs into Shania in his new neighborhood. He keeps thinking something is “weird” across the street. Soon after, Shania and Nick lose something over the fence and they have to go get it.

This is where we meet Anne, the eleven-year-old genius and kid-scientist that has invented and built her own androids. She has the already functioning “Hands” and “Eyes” and she’s working on powering up Pal when Nick and Shania discover her.

All three of the kid-scientists work together to solve different problems and get the job done. One of their very first problems is how to get enough power for Pal. They work together and harness the energy from electricity to get the job done!

The show is designed to develop creative thinking in children and has been tested to ensure they achieve this goal. Amazon’s goal is to inspire lifelong learners and provide children with the skills that will help them find personal and professional satisfaction in their future.

How I know they really liked it? The show was the first thing they told Mr. Serious about when he got home from work. They went on about this cool new show and Anne and the robots. It’s totally a win because it shows them that girls can be scientist. It takes them through the steps of the scientific method and shows them how experiments are done (of course, with a little help from the Annedroids!) They have watched the entire season and I hope that there is another season out soon!

Check out Annedroids on Amazon Prime’s Instant Video. The first episode is free to check out if you don’t have Prime as well.

Have you kids checked out Annedroids yet?

  4. Thanks for the review/recommendation. I turned it on (stealthy like you did) and my 4-year-old immediately asked if she could watch with me. After the episode was over, she begged for more. She’ll be getting the new LEGO Research Institute 21110 for her birthday in a month so this show dovetails nicely.

    1. I’d say give it a try. I don’t think it’s geared at girls over boys at all…it’s just the main character is a girl, but there are plenty of boys, too!

Let me know what he thinks!
