I don’t know about you, but at 11, I’m pretty sure I had no idea what I wanted to do, let alone a business idea that I wanted to run with.
Enter Ryan O’Neill, who is 11 years old. He started making jellies last summer to sell at their local farmers’ market, and his business has just taken off! He is quite the entrepreneur, and is very passionate about teaching others (especially kids) about business and everything he has accomplished so far.
What is his business? Saucy Spirits. They offer organic, gourmet wine jellies in a variety of flavors. The jellies themselves are created and crafted by Ryan (obviously with his mother’s supervision and help since there is wine involved).
Not only do they have yummy and savory flavors, but they give you suggested Recipes, too.
They are currently running a Kickstarter project to try and raise $4500 for his organic and commercial certifications, to obtain a commercial kitchen, purchase bulk ingredients for our first wholesale run, etc. Right now, he has only raised $1540 of his goal. They still have 3 days to go, so they’re hoping for the best!
If you aren’t familiar with Kickstarter, it is basically a project fundraising website. Project creators set a goal, along with rewards for those that back their project. If you reach your goal by the end of your project timeline, then you receive the funding. If not, then you receive nothing, and none of your backers are charged for their pledges. So you can see why it is very important to us that we reach that goal! *** Please help Ryan reach his goal!*****ENDS OCTOBER 16th
The Saucy Spirits come in very nicely made glass jars with serving suggestions on the side:
With all of the options, I went with something that would allow me to best taste the flavor so I went with the pumpkin spice chardonnay on a biscuit. Yummy. It tasted just like fall!
It’s also very yummy on cream cheese with crackers.
I’m a little envious of Ryan’s entrepreneurial spirit, and how delicious his product is. Go support his project and enter to win here!
