SleepBuddy Review and Giveaway

I might have mentioned a time or two how nap time isn’t always perfection at our house. And, since the girls are now sharing a room, they tend to wake each other up in the morning…way too early…like before 6am (ack!)

So, a little sleep help to the rescue.  We tried out the SleepBuddy system to help remind the girls when it was okay to get out of bed.

SleepBuddy is designed to help your child learn when he or she should stay in bed, which results in a more peaceful night for everyone in the house. The SleepBuddy package includes the SleepBuddy light, A Bedtime Surprise children’s book to introduce SleepBuddy, an awards chart to help track your progress, and a simple, step-by-step Parent’s Guide.

  • Subtle and soothing tabletop sleep light that blends well in all rooms
  • Simple to program for sleep (light on) and wake (light off) times for naps and nighttime
  • Child proof entry for programming compartment
  • Multi setting dimmer for the perfect glow
  • 6ft. AC Power cord for easy placement; Internal battery backup allows for moving room to room without reprogramming

When the light is off, it’s safe to get out of bed.

And, when the blue light is on, you must stay in bed.

Who is the SleepBuddy for?

  • Children in the crib moving to a bed within 1-2 months
  • Children currently transitioning to a crib
  • Children sleeping in bed, but not staying through the night.

So, if you notice, it recommends starting this within 1-2 months before moving to a bed.  It’s important to introduce the idea before implementing it. Our problem is, the girls fully understand and can tell you what color the SleepBuddy should be for them to be able to get out of bed. But, they just get out of bed and tell us what color it is. Also, since they are potty trained/training, it’s important they know they can get up and go potty, but it’s hard to remind them to go back to bed.

Also, while the child compartment is supposed to be “childproof” and they can’t change the clocks, I have to disagree with this. My kids can open this no problem. So, I recommend you put it up high on a dresser or bookshelf or something where they can’t reach it and change the time.

I like that it has an internal clock, so if I need to move it from room to room, I don’t have to reset the clock, sleep times, and nap times, etc.

You can purchase the SleepBuddy at Amazon.com* for $34.95 or on the SleepBuddy site.

Are you children having a hard time staying in bed, or about to transition?  SleepBuddy wants to give one lucky Really, Are You Serious? reader their own SleepBuddy system.
