I am fortunate right now. The girls both get breakfast, lunch and a snack included in their tuition at school. Meaning, no lunch or snack packing for me. Thank goodness. I know when that time comes, I am going to rely on any and all shortcuts possible.
Enter Smucker’s Uncrustables (which come in 4 different varieties), wholesome sandwiches available in the freezer section of the store that have the crust cut off. All you have to do is remove them from the freezer and allow 30 minutes for them to thaw. What results is a soft-bread sandwich that tastes like it was freshly made.
I chose the Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jam on Whole Wheat sandwiches for the girls. One time that we are always struggling to get lunch together is on the weekends. So, it was an easy choice to get the Uncrustables out for the girls lunches and let them enjoy. I was worried they would think these new sandwiches were weird and not touch them. I couldn’t have been more wrong. They both chowed them down. (Seriously, look at that face. Nothing was getting in her way.) Each girl ate their whole sandwich and was asking for more. They don’t even do this when I make them a PB&J. Needless to say, I’m sure these will be on our future grocery lists.
Check out the Smucker’s Uncrustables site, where you can find information about upcoming promotions, contest and giveaways. They even have set times and dates that you can win a coupon to try them out for yourself.
