Snow Mountain with the bigs | Mommy and Me Monday | 256th ed

This weekend, I snuck away with my big girls for a little time with them at Stone Mountain Park’s Snow Mountain. When we pulled into our neighborhood almost 6 hours after leaving the house, the girls started calculating the time and were super excited that they spent that much time with me. (Although, they also got to see some of their friends, too, so I’m not sure which was more of a perk.

I learned some things about my girls, too. The oldest will try something out. She might be reluctant, but she’ll do it. And check it off the list. But, that’s about it. She just wants to do it once and be done.

My N? She’s a little thrill-seeker. She wanted to ride those tubes in rapid succession. We had to convince the oldest sister to go two more times on the tubes.

She also gets “so exhausted” standing in line, so luckily she had her tube in which she could rest her “oh so tired legs!”

I wish thrilled we could compromise together and get to do something that everybody loved. And, that I was able to ride on the tubes for the first time! I had a blast on them (although, I sure which there was a way to guarantee we could go down them head-first and not spin around!)

Our compromise? That we could go play in the Snow Fort and build castles and crawl around. They also threw snow balls at each other.

Then N discovered the min tube run and she was an extra happy girl. She tubed. The oldest sister dug and did some building. Everybody was happy.

It was a nice treat to have the two of them with me. It’s not very often at all that I’m not out and about and counting to 4 (well, usually 3 because B is attached to me) and my head is on a swivel. It was nice talking to them in the car and spying on them in the rearview mirror.

Our girls are all so awesome in their own ways and I intend to make sure that I keep spending time with them all in special ways even if it’s just a trip to the store!

Thank you to Stone Mountain for hosting us. Snow Mountain is open until February 22nd. We’ve been in overcast and drizzly weather and we’ve been in sunny and clear skies weather and had fun either way. Bring some money and you can share a hot chocolate or roast a marshmallow together once you are done tubing.

How do you make sure that all of your kids feel special?

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information. 1. Sounds like such a fun day! I have three kids and definitely understand how nice it can be to just go out with one or two of them at a time. Like yours, my oldest (girl – 7) is also a “one and done” on some of the scarier or bigger rides/attractions. My middle (boy -6) would ride all day!

    1. Sometimes people are surprised how different they are…me, not at all! My sister and I are like night and day!

  2. That looks like so much fun! We’ve been meaning to take my grandsons to this. They would have a blast!

    1. You should definitely head up there and check it out. I think I saw a coupon on the site, too! Make sure you make reservations before you go.

  3. It’s so fun to have “big kid” dates! My husband has been the one to take my daughter tubing but it looks so fun at Snow Mountain I think it may be my turn next!

Wow this looks like a lot of fun, my family loves to go sledding here in Michigan when the snow gets high. We have never tried tubing though in the snow.

  5. I have two of my three boys this week while the others are traveling and it’s been wonderful. I love the change in the dynamic! Snow tubing is one of our favorite activities-as long as it’s not too cold. This looks like a great place!

  6. I look forward to taking Gage there when he is older. I am hoping he is thrill seeker like his parents. 🙂 Glad you got to spend time with your big girls!!

    1. You know, he’ll probably love it next year! E loved playing in the snow fort and riding on the little tubes last year.

It was so very nice to spend the time with them for sure!

  7. I love that you made it a priority to spend time with your girls like this. My husband and I try to have separate adventures with your kids – but we don’t do it nearly enough! Thanks for the reminder to do this again soon!

  8. How fun! I wish there was a place around us that did that. I can’t believe Astroworld closed and it’s now a parking lot. And nothing else like it has been built. Crazy. maybe I need to propose that business idea to the Hubs!

  9. That is so fun!!!
Well, it looks like it was fun 🙂
I am glad that you guys got to go and make these awesome memories!!!

  10. That looks like so much fun! I was stalking IG photos of this over the weekend. 🙂 Since my daughter isn’t young enough to notice yet (and gets plenty of one-on-one time during the weekdays), my husband & I both try to do certain “older” things to make our son feel special. I.e., they frequently go to a Saturday Lowes kids build or to a local fun park for games & go kart racing just the two of them. I try to get my son early from after school periodically to take him to a special event (yesterday it was a Lego build at our library) or make him a special treat (today we had hot chocolate & popcorn).

  11. Wow! That place looks awesome! What a blast!

I am always surprised how easy my kids are when I have only one or two with me at a time. When you get used to having all four around all the time 2 seems like a piece of cake, doesn’t it?

  12. OH that looks like so much fun! I wish we had something like that around us! I love that they have the different size hills! Fun!!!
