Working together | WW {giveaway, too}

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

Sometimes, my girls work together and complete a task with great ease. And they get along when they do it and use their teamwork skills to complete the job. I sure love it when this happens.

A couple weekends ago, they worked on a small birdhouse. Daddy helped a little bit to make sure it actually ended up a birdhouse and not something else.

Once it was all constructed, they worked together to paint it (each painting their own side). Yes, we have a birdhouse divided. Notice behind the oldest, a little bird feeder. She wanted to get it with her own money to go next to the birdhouse. She is all about nature and birds. She likes to tell us what type of birds they are when they are hanging out in our backyard.

The final product of their working together? An awesome and very colorful birdhouse hanging on our front porch.

A certain mischievous littlest sister gets into everything so she stayed inside…she wanted to know what was going on.

This birdhouse and other bird theme items came in a box specifically addressed to our oldest from SurpriseRide. She was so excited to not only get her own mail, but to get an entire package! She was nice enough to share the projects with her sister, too which brought them together to create something that we can display at the house and they can be reminded of their time together.

This months’ box came with all things bird. The build and paint birdhouse (and an extra set of paints…nice touch), a bird book, binoculars, a wooden bird glider and model magic and feathers to make your own bird. A hit. The binoculars went outside everyday on an adventure until they were dropped/thrown/fought over and no longer useable.

A little about SurpriseRide. It’s a subscription service aimed at kids ages 7-12 started by two sisters. They received a fun kit full of activities every month. These activities are theme-based and include subjects spanning art, culture, science and technology. Each ride includes a close-ended SurpriseAcitivity that encourages structured discovery, an open-ended SurpriseChallenge that allows kids to exercise their imagination, and other fun extras!

They know that  kids (and parents) love contests, so they host a monthly contest on the SurpiseRide Facebook page where kids share pictures of their creations with the community for a chance to win a special prize in next month’s ride!

*We received the SurpriseRide box to facilitate the review. All thoughts are my own.

  8. That is so sweet that your oldest shared with her little sister… and even more precious that she wanted to spend her own money on a bird feeder so that those birds could have something to nibble on! Great job, mama! You are raising up some sweet little ones 🙂 It’s sooo funny that little E had to stay inside so that she wouldn’t get into anything, but she appears to have enjoyed her brief exile.
