The Mommy Phase | Mommy and Me Monday | 265th ed

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

At 14.5 months, we are stuck on the “mommy phase.” The one where if mommy can be seen or heard (and likely smelled) she must also be touched.

It’s a beautiful and overwhelming phase that I know too shall pass, so I savor it the best I can.

I know that if I sit down on the floor right now, she will be in my lap in approximately 0.2 minutes. What’s not to love about that?

If I sit, she sits

I know that if a stranger (and body other than mommy, daddy or sisters) comes near us and she is walking around, she will want to be picked up. If said strangers wants to have a conversation with me I will get a super shy baby snuggled on my shoulder or chest. What’s not to love about that?

If I sit, she sits

When I get the carrier out to wear her, she gets excited and wants to be worn. What’s not to love about that?

Sure, it’s overwhelming when only I will do. It’s overwhelming when I try to leave the room or the house and I’m met with a little sweet baby’s tears. I’m overwhelmed with love. And what’s not to love about that?

I take it all in knowing that this mommy phase will pass before I know it and right now I like being the safest place in her eyes. And I can only hope that while she won’t always want to be snuggled in deep on my chest, that I will always be her safe place.

Since the button code stopped working many moons ago, I took it out. But, if you are adding your link to my link list, please, as a courtesy, add a link back to my site so people can explain and link up themselves if they’d like. After all, that’s the point of the link up!

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids. Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information.

Need another reason to participate in Mommy and Me Monday? Read my post about why I blog with words from a friends’ husband. **There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies. If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link. It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.*

    1. And, in no time at all, I’ll be begging for her to come and sit with me!

  3. Even at almost 4 years old, I still have this around the house. And if Red doesn’t want Mama, then he’s being a Daddy’s boy. I hope the “competition” doesn’t cause too many problems this summer!
