The Yellow Daisy Festival and Best Kept Secret At Stone Mountain Park | WW
It’s no secret that we really enjoy a trip to Stone Mountain. The girls always have a great time, and we enjoy the time outdoors with them. This past weekend, the girls, Grammy and Mr. Serious headed to check out the Yellow Daisy Festival (first time we’ve been able to attend).
While I didn’t get to go with them, I enjoyed living the event vicariously through them!
And, if I only got like two pictures and this was one of them? Yeah, that’d be a happy mommy! My baby and my honey walking around, hand-in-hand
This of course, being the other! (Side note, they dress themselves. We don’t argue!)
The festival featured more than 400 artists and crafters from 38 States and two countries displaying their works. The bird church houses were a family favorite for sure.
As well as this interesting “person” sitting in a chair.
There was also live entertainment, Children’s Corner activities, and crafter demonstrations throughout the event. Of course, there were the typical festival foods, too (corn dogs, chicken strips, funnel cakes, oh my!). The bubble cart was a big hit with many of the kids!
And the best kept Stone Mountain Park Secret? You do have to have a wrist band to get in, but you MUST go to the barn if you have kids. Why? Well, first, it’s air conditioned! That’s a huge plus! And, all of the other reasons? It’s got tons of fun ball activities, little piggies (see below) that your daughter can beat up, three story slides, and so much more. Parents can interact with their kids, or sit and enjoy some benches while the kids play (benches are all by the door, so your kid can’t leave without you!)
The barn is located in the main parking lot by the entrance to most of the activities (Geyser Towers, Sky Hike, the restaurants and more). Make sure you don’t miss it. It’s definitely a hit!
We received tickets to Stone Mountain and a parking pass. All thoughts are my own.
I just love that first picture!! Sooo sweet.
We had a great time!
We didn’t make it this year, looks like fun again!
Looks like fun we gotta make it to stone mountain before the year ends would love to take the kids during Christmas time.
I loved those bird houses they were so cool!
I never thought of the Barn as a secret, but you’re correct! Most people go to the right of the park, and it’s to the left. I too love the seats, and air conditioning, but my oh my it can get LOUD in there, lol. The kids always have fun in there, and can spend quite some time there – it’s especially good when you go on one of those days where we have scattered showers. When it’s raining or drizzling you can head in there and wait it out, then go enjoy the other activities when it passes. I believe it’s closed for Stone Mountain Christmas, as well as some of the other attractions (miniature golf, skyhike, camp outpost, and geyser towers) but that’s ok, because there is so much to see and do for SM Christmas.
All these years I’ve lived in Atlanta, I can’t believe I’ve never gone to this festival before! Looks like a lot of fun!
An airconditioned space where the littles can beat up and crawl on things? I’m there!! 😉
Looks like so much FUN.
What a great experience. I love little places like these ! HOw much time do the parehnts spend in “The Barn” on average? Love the piggies
That looks fabulous for the kids!
That looks like a lot of fun! I just love festival atmosphere 🙂
Looks like fun! I would definitely go there with my family if I lived in the area!
Looks like a lot of fun!
we went a couple years ago… it was a great time.
You’re smart to figure out the barn’s A/C secret! Also, what the heck is wrong with what they’re wearing? They look fine to me!
Looks like they had a great time. Love the pic of baby E and Mr. Serious walking together.
We went to Stone Mountain a lot two years ago and haven’t been back.
Your girls are a sweet reminder of how much fun we’ve missed.
It looks like you all had fun. We were supposed to come but we didn’t make it. I want to take my children to Stone Mountain before it gets too cold.
looks like a great day. love the combination of arts/crafts with stuff kids will like!
I went to Stone Mtn. once while living in Atlanta area and it was so cool. I’d love to go again sometime soon.
Aww, looks like a fun festival! Love the hand holding pic!
Looks like a fun place to take the family!
We had a pass to Stone Mountain Park and only used the trails. I really need to do a better job exploring the park.
