I think it’s safe for me to tell you all that I’m cheap. Yep. I like a good deal.
One of those places is clothes. Especially for the kids. They are going to outgrow them or stain them so quickly I don’t want to spend money on them. I often find their clothes at local consignment sales.
But, here’s the thing. You have to wait in line and go through racks of clothes to try to find the good ones and I’d have to bring at least one kid. Which tends to be a little more stressful.
ThreadUp has changed all of that. They offer consignment style shopping (and selling) online. Hallelujah. I can look through the images of the exact clothing, and I can sort them by size, tops, bottoms, pants, etc. My kind of shopping.
It’s quite reasonable, too. For $20 I found 2 pairs of pants and a pair of leggings for our oldest daughter. All brands I recognized. The jeans and leggings looked brand new. Nobody would ever know that we didn’t buy them new.
The green pants were a little more used looking. Maybe this is standard for them, but the elastic for adjusting the waist was removed. This was a big disappointment as they are way too big in the waist for our tall skinny girl. It wasn’t something I noticed right away. I only noticed when I went to adjust them when she tried them on and saw the buttons but no elastic. We’ll have to add a belt or a thing my mom made to cinch them in the back.
While the elastic missing in the waist is a bummer, it really was a great deal to have three pairs of pants shipped to my house that were in great condition. I can see me checking in there again when we need new clothes for the girls.
