Watching her fall asleep | Mommy and Me Monday | 208th ed

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

It’s time again for Mommy and Me Monday. Pop out from behind that camera and capture yourself in action with your kids.  Check out the inaugural Mommy and Me Monday for more information. Need another reason to participate in Mommy and Me Monday? Read my post about why I blog with words from a friends’ husband.

It’s a good thing I have this blog. There are no baby books, no journals, no notes about what happens at what stage. Just the ole blog, which I happen to be thankful for. It reminds me that a) this newborn age is rough on my kiddos tummies and b) this phase too shall pass.

Most importantly, it reminds me that before I know it, she’ll be losing teeth and talking in full sentences, so even though there are million things I want to do, I need to sit and take it all in. Babies don’t keep!

The other morning after breastfeeding, she was hanging out on my lap. I looked down and noticed she got sleepy, so I pulled her up on my chest and snuggled her in. I gently rocked her and watched her fall asleep.

First the slow blinks, then they get longer and longer and finally, the eyes stay closed. Then her little body gets soft and heavy and completely relaxed. Finally, her breathing slows and changes and I can smell the sweetness of her baby breath. It makes me all mushy-gooshy and I just sit there and take it in.

Mommy and Me Monday snuggles

So, I might not be showered, my teeth might not be brushed and dinner might be leftovers, but I’ll be here snuggling my little while she sleeps.

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?
**There really is only one requirement here, a picture of you and your baby or babies; your children, your “baby” (ie significant other) or even your fur babies. If your picture doesn’t feature you (meaning you must be in the picture), I will have to delete your link. It’s not fair to the others that follow the rules.**

I try to make sure and visit all of you and leave some comment love.  Please spread the love!  And, I never mind the comments, either:)
