11 Easy stocking stuffer ideas that will help your friends and family start their new year off right

One of the biggest areas I struggle with at Christmas is the stocking stuffers for the adults in my life. Yes, I try to send a little something for our parents and siblings. It’s not usually anything crazy or big, but just a little treat or something they might want or more importantly need that they might not buy for themselves. This year, I thought I would theme those stocking stuffers with items that would help them start their year off on the right foot.

Here are my super easy stocking stuffer ideas for starting the new year right!

Stocking ideas no text

*some samples received. Affiliate links are also used, which could result in the blog receiving a commission.

Socks + underwear + sports bras

My family jokes about giving socks and underwear if you don’t present a wish list. This year I put them on my wish list. No joke. I can always use new cushiony socks that aren’t worn down. And, for the ladies, sports bras for supporting their girls.

Water bottle

There are some great leak-proof options out there sure to please any person. And, let’s face it, it’s likely none of us drink enough water, so a water bottle would make a great encourager. Bonus points if it’s super cute. ::reaches over and grabs water bottle to sip some water::

Hair goodies

With the man bun being all the rage, this can apply to men and women. Hair can be annoying. It’s important to be able to pull it back out of your face and for it to stay back and not bother you. Hair ties, headbands and hats are great for this.

Toothbrush + toothpaste

Oral hygiene and health is important. And so is replacing your toothbrush regularly. Pop a new one in their stocking and get their favorite toothpaste so they know you pay attention.

Deodorant

We don’t need anybody stinking up their new year. That would not be a good start. Throw in a new deodorant for their gym bag.

Arm phone holder

The New Year could involve more walking or running and tunes are important for motivation. It’s nice to be able to strap your phone on your arm or music playing device to your arm, pop in some headphones and go.

Fitness Tracker

I have previously used a  FitBit Surge and it’s kind of amazing that a little gadget like this will help push me to take more steps everyday and get my heart rate up even higher. I used to have the One and that pushed me to move more as well. A fitness tracker is a great addition to a stocking with a little higher price tag. It’s nice because these will also encourage tracking your food and water intake with a smartphone as well.

Now my fitness tracker of choice is my Apple Watch. I really enjoy closing my rings and also competing with family and friends (as well as myself).

Skin care

It’s always a good idea to keep your skin protected when you are inside and outside. A little bottle of sunscreen or sunblock is a great reminder for taking care of your skin every day.

In addition to blocking sun, you’ll also want something to help clean your face and remove your makeup. The MakeUp Eraser definitely fits the bill. It removes non-waterproof and waterproof makeup with just the cloth and water.  It is the #1 sustainable makeup remover in the world.

GAME CHANGING BENEFITS

MakeUp Eraser is dedicated to creating the most sustainable makeup removal product in the world by using only the most accessible resource available: WATER. Driven by millennials that truly believe we can eliminate the 3rd most wasteful product in the world: WIPES.

8 GAME CHANGING BENEFITS:

  • Antibacterial
  • No chemicals
  • Less waste
  • Lasts 3-5 years
  • Machine washable
  • Great for sensitive skin
  • Face + lip exfoliator
  • Saves money

Not only are they economical, practical and good for the environment, but they are super cute, too. You can get a 7 day set of little MakeUp Erasers, or a more full-sized one.

Gum

There are a lot of studies that speak to the wonders of sugar-free chewing gum. It’s great for your oral hygiene and can help you make better eating decisions in the new year.

Fitness Essential Oil

I’ve already purchased some Deep Relief to go in some stockings around here. It’s great to have something to put on sore muscles and body aches.

Protein Snacks

The New Year still needs to have food, but you’ll be on the go. Something like Built Bars are a great way to indulge in holiday sweets and after and come in under 200 calories. Built Bars are gluten free and full of protein to keep you full of energy to help you stay on track during the holiday season. They are perfect when you are on-the-go and need a good protein-filled snack. They are easy to pack into a gym bag or purse for when hunger strikes or food is needed. They also have an additional line of flavors that are produced on a nut-free line.

There are a ton of good things you can put in a stocking this year to help family and friends start their new year off on the right foot. I think this list just scratches the surface.

Stocking stuffer ideas

What would you put in a loved one’s stocking to help them in the new year?

I love to surprise my husband and daughter with unexpected gifts in their stockings each year, but I also always include a few of the same things year after year. For my husband: a small game or gaming accessory (a killer set of dice, this year), and a bag of Swedish Fish (his favorite). For my daughter: a game or puzzle, a fun pair of socks, new undies (she’s 3), and a special edible treat of some sort.

I thought they were mainly just to make things smell nice, but I have learned how many health and mood benefits they have and that they can even treat some minor ailments. They are a great way to stay healthy naturally without chemicals.

I don’t get a stocking.. I only do them for my kids, but I’d love to get the new Smashbox Masterclass makeup palette this year from my fiance. I always love getting something indulgent that I wouldn’t buy myself.. higher end makeup, nice pajamas, books, some bubble bath and candles or a box of yummy chocolates. I have 2 small kids so these are things that I really appreciate. Especially if he watches the kids and lets me take a bubble bath with a book and chocolates. Now that’s an amazing gift!
