Can we all agree that technology and machines are great until they aren’t? Several years ago, the ice dispenser on the front of our refrigerator stopped working. The motor had gone out. Everything I found said it was a pretty expensive repair and that it would likely go out again. So, we opted to not replace it and manually got the cubes out of the door container with our hands.
And then, one day, I realized we were completely out of ice. The ice maker had stopped working and was completely frozen up. So, I took to the google again and discovered this is also a pretty common problem. I could buy replacement parts and potentially fix the ice maker. But, we still had the issue of the ice dispenser not working. If I was going to fix it, I wanted it fixed right. But, not to the tune of $400.
So, I bought some really cheap ice cube trays. Those worked until we broke the plastic trying to crack the tray and get the cubes out. I got some more expensive trays that I found on super clearance. And this is what happened when I would go to get the ice out of the tray. Elsa had visited and left her frozen fractals everywhere!
Every time I popped the ice out, little pieces of cold ice and water went everywhere. It was time to fridge shop.
Priority number one? A working ice maker! After of course, the working other parts, too. So maybe priority 1b?
Best Buy recently introduced me to the LG InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator with Craft Ice™ and gave me a gift card to share info about it with you. This one is definitely pretty amazing and could be a top contender.
The kids loved looking at the InstaView™ Door-in-Door® because you can see right through the glass panel door. I like it because we can access on-the-go items, beverages, condiments, and more without having to open the whole fridge.
Mr. Serious likes the measured fill for clean, fresh-tasting filtered water.
It’s also easy to organize with a drawer divider to organize frozen food and insides it includes 4 split shelves, 3 fixed shelves, cantilevered shelves and more to provide ample space for storing items.
With the premium LED interior lighting, you’ll be able to see every little space for all of the things that fit in the fridge.
And don’t forget the door alarm which alerts you when the kiddos accidentally leave the refrigerator door.
And now, let’s talk about the ice. It has dual ice makers with Craft Ice™ so you can automatically create crushed, cubed and LG’s exclusive slow-melting round ice on demand, for upscale, craft drinks at home – helping beverages taste their best longer.
Look at this fancy craft ice!
A game changer for home entertainers, Craft Ice™ opens a new world of high-end drinks and keeps your soft drinks, lemonade and iced coffee tasting their best while still having an additional ice maker on the door to produce traditional cubed or crushed ice.
What do you think? Is this LG fridge the solution to my ice cube problems?
