I don’t know about you, but I have a really hard time shopping for Mr. Serious. He never really “wants” anything, so it’s a struggle finding something I think he will appreciate and enjoy. He tends to like technology and all things “techie.” After thinking long and hard and not coming up with anything specific, I went online. That didn’t work at all. So, headed out the door because I needed to touch all the things and look around the store to really get the right thing for him. I really wanted to get him one of the best tech gifts out there. And, I wanted it to be one of the cool gifts that are trendy, too. Is it bad that I want him to be able to have something awesome to say that he got for Christmas when his family or friends ask?
My first stop was to Best Buy with E in tow. She’s a good shopping companion and helps me make decisions. And, she’ll let me wonder around and look at everything!
At first I was a little overwhelmed. There were so many options! A phone with a watch that communicates with it. How cool is that? While it might seem odd, we really like our Sonicare toothbrushes. Like a lot. So, I thought about picking him up a new one (after a couple years it’s time for a replacement). Or maybe a bluetooth speaker that lights up to the music? E was really partial to that one. Plus, she could push the buttons in front of the speakers to hear how they all sounded. You can’t do that online shopping.
We also wondered around and checked out the tablets. There are so many to chose from. I like that you can pick them up, see how big they are and how heavy and see the displays. With technology, it’s really helpful to be able to hold it and test it out.
Then, I had another idea to get him some great headphones. He listens to music all the time at work, and he’s got some $10 headphones. I’ve heard great things about some of the newer, larger headphones, so I wanted to check them out.
And a slow cooker? Okay, well, maybe not for Mr. Serious so much as me, but he likes to eat dinner and ours is on the outs:) However, I know many men that are great in the kitchen and would love one.
My little helper was partial to the bluetooth speaker for daddy. Good thing I brought her along with me.
We finally decided on a blue tooth speaker. He loves to listen to music on his phone at home. It makes him happy, so I know this will be a great tech gift that he will enjoy. And while I was there, I hit up the gift center and grabbed a Best Buy gift card for my step-brother. I never know what to get him!
As an added bonus, when I purchased the Best Buy gift card, I was able to enter the Give It To Win It gift card promotion. From December 11-24th, every time you purchase a $25 or more Best Buy gift card, in-store or online, you can scan your gift card in their app, or enter their gift card number on their website to enter for a chance to win one of the daily prizes.*
If you can’t come up with a holiday gift idea, Best Buy has set up a trending page to show what gadgets are currently trending on Twitter. And, if you are still stuck on December 17th, you can check out Best Buy’s Google+ “shoppable hangout.” This broadcast hangout will feature a host and 10-12 participants. The theme of the hangout is last minute shopping. It can be viewed on a YouTube page or your Google+ page.
