Donuts, really?

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

The teacher at #1’s school looked at me a little funny in the morning.

Hmmm…wonder what’s up?

“Mom” the teacher says to me “did you have donuts for breakfast this morning?”

Hmmm…still wondering? Does my butt look unusually large? Do I look like I have donuts on my hips.

“No” I say. “No donuts this morning.” All the while thinking, yeah, I really don’t have time for donuts in the morning. I’m lucky I get the kids to school at get to work on time some mornings.

“Oh, well, you have something on your lips,” she tells me while gesturing to wipe my lips.

I wipe. Nothing comes off.

Why? Because I have toothpaste on my mouth.

Great.

I already stopped and talked with several other people this morning.

I quickly lick my finger and wipe my lips.

At least she told me.

  1. lol, Gotta give her credit for telling you. All those other people let you walk around like a donut fool 🙂

  2. Don’t you just hate that? I’ve walked in with Maggie’s breakfast all over me and no one said anything! Nothing like a glop of applesauce right in the middle of your shirt to accessorize and outfit!

  3. That’s a bummer. I do the stain thing like Bren said all the time. With me it’s usually, “Oh! You spit up down my back? I had no idea.”

  4. *snickers*

Yes, at least she told you! I can picture that in my head. I’m trying really hard not to laugh. Sorry. lol.

  5. Aw, hon, I’m glad she told you! I hate it when I have something on me (bc we all know preggo tummies are freaking magnets for whatever) and nobody says a thing! What gives?

PS–thanks for your sweet comment! I hot glued the flowers onto an alligator clip covered in ribbon.

  6. so funny! At least you did not walk around all day with white lips.

  7. Just stumbled across your blog and your story is hilarious. It’s cute she thought you had had a doughnut. LMAO

  8. Oh my goodness. I get so embarrassed about silly things like this. I just feel like a complete ditz…not that you should. But, I do.

And, you’re right. At least she told you. Seems like most people are terrified of pointing out things like that to people.

  9. That’s hilarious. But at least we know you brush your teeth…

  10. How sad… I hate it when things like that happen to me. At least you didn’t get to high school with all your teen darlings with “donut” lips.

I am happy to be back in touch. Our cruise was wonderful. We had over 400 children on board from 6 months to teenagers. They have camp carnival for children 2 and over so we rarely saw much of the children… but we were told that they have a great time on board. If you are interested in booking a really cheap cruise by the middle of June let me know. We will never get better deals. The Swine Flu itinerary change to Canada was great for us. The ship leaves from Long Beach, CA… You could take a few days after the cruise to stay with us and enjoy So. Cal. Izzy would love Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm….and staying at the Staffy bed and breakfast. I would love to have you. You deserve the break… come on over!!

Have a good day… it is getting close to Fri… and a three day weekend… yeah!!!

    Love, Grammy Lura
ps. I got your thankyou note… how thoughtful of you. Thanks

  11. Is it considered irony that your previous post was a toothbrush give away…?

I always tell people about the spinach on their tooth, booger in their nose…. I’d want someone to tell me.

  12. Good for her for telling you!! What is wrong with people who let us go around with food on our faces!?!? (Or toothpaste!!) 🙂

  13. Well at least you heard it from Isabella and not a stranger, an annoying coworker or even worse…no one!
Have a great rest of the day!

  14. Better to have toothpaste on your mouth than bad breath!

  15. Oh I hate that!! And you talked to other people and they didn’t tell you, I hate that even more. I always tell people, because I would want to be told.

  16. That’s hilarious!!!

AND……YOU WON MY GIVEAWAY!!!! Email me/send me a comment and we’ll chat about your necklace!!!

  17. Oh wow…atleast told you, but that still sucks!!

  18. Oh man………but you’re right, at least she told you!

Note to self…..look at face in mirror before leaving the house!…..lol

  19. hahaha 🙂 that’s hilarious! at least she told you! ha!
i try to tell people things but sometimes i don’t-shame on me i suppose!

  20. Too funny. I definitely have walked around with breastmilk stained tops without realizing it. We’re moms, doesn’t that mean we get cut some slack? Ah ha.

  21. Eep!

That sort of thing happens to me a lot. I eat like a pig, apparently, so food remnants are either on my face or my clothes.

  22. Oh good grief! I hate it when that happens. If it makes you feel any better, my dad preached a whole sermon in front about 550 people with toothpaste all over the front of his pants. I got absolutely nothing out of what he said. I was so concerned about what in the world was all over his pants and since I was a teen, I was totally horrified!
    LOL!

  23. Isn’t it weird that instead of just saying, “You have something on your face…” that she asked you if it were donuts first? LOL. I don’t know why that cracks me up, but it does.

I think it’s great people tell you when you have something unsightly on your face (or teeth!) but for some reason I always feel uncomfortable telling people. But I know it’s the right thing to do!

  24. Yep, at least she told you. I hate it when people see something like that, and say nothing.
