We’ve made some amazing memories the last couple years with all of the travel we have done, from driving to Michigan, Texas and Florida, to flying across the country to Los Angeles. Sometimes, the best memories are made in the little moments, the in-between, the unplanned, the journey.
It would seem that about half of our trips and vacations lately are spent journeying to our destination. So, why not enjoy those moments just as much as when we get there!
How do we encourage “enjoying the journey?”
Don’t take yourself too seriously. Relax. Take a deep breath. Have fun.
Always stop to get a selfie. An us-ie? A family-ie?
Do a countdown through the states or cities.
Try not to stress when things don’t go as planned, if you do, it’s okay to roll down the window and let out a cathartic scream!
Be a tourist, even if it’s in the town in which you grew up.
Take time to stop and check out the scenery.
We are so excited to be journeying to the Mom It Forward Family Forward conference at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at the end of the month with our family! We will enjoy the 8 hour car journey there and all fun once we get to Orlando!
When we stop and really take a moment to think about everything that our kids see, it helps relieve the stress and allows us to have all of the fun.
