This past week has been difficult, to say the least.  I’m trying, trying to remember that I am not in control.  God is in control.  But, that is so much easier said than done.

We can feel your prayers and our friends prayers all around us and we thank you repeatedly for them.

We are so thankful to my family for getting in the car, and immediately driving the 13 hours (and my sister flying in) and know how lucky we are.

We are thankful and lucky for each and every one of you, too.

I haven’t picked up my camera in a while.

But, I’m thankful they did.  And, now I’m realizing it wasn’t a they it was a she.  Because she isn’t in one single picture.

So, thank you Emily.  Thank you for taking pictures and capturing the lives of my girls playing with grandma and grandpa and loving on them.  And, next time you are here, we’d better make sure you are in the pictures, too.

We’re thankful for Grandma, who let #1 ride around the living room on her back and shoulders.

Grandma and #1

We’re thankful for Grandma riding the toy four-wheeler with #2.  (Because, #2?  Is not a very good driver.)

Grandma and #2

We’re thankful for Grandpa teaching #1 how to golf…well, putt at least.

Grandpa and #1

And, bravely teaching #2 how to putt, too.  I don’t think I would trust her with that golf club.

Grandpa and #2

And, for teaching our girls how to share and be safe on that four wheeler at the same time.  (And, quite thankful that #1 understands steering now..however, she doesn’t understand watching where she is going, just yet).

#1 and #2 on the four-wheeler

So, in these photos, capturing these moments, I’m finding some joy.  Joy in their precious faces.  Joy in their smiles.  Joy in their perfect little bodies.  Joy in knowing that God trusted us with these precious little girls.

So glad to hear that you guys have found some joy in your lives. I think after any loss it’s hard to find that and when you do, it’s hard to accept that you have. Cling to your faith and your family, guys. That will see you through these hard times!

When you called with your news there was not a second thought in Joe and my minds that we had to be there for you and Matt. We both love you all very much. We also had a blast with the girls. They are the cutest sweetest girls. Grandpa loved golfing with them and is looking forward to more at Thanksgiving. Make sure the 4 wheeler has a charged battery.

Still thinking of you daily. There are really no words, but I wish there were. Just know there are big hugs and lots of prayers and love being showered on you from me. I hear often that God gives us nothing we can’t handle, so you truly are a strong woman.

That being said, the pictures are great and I am glad she took them for you. It looks like Grandma and Grandpa totally rock! 🙂
