Happy 8th Birthday, E! | Mommy and Me Monday | 523rd ed

How are we already at an 8th birthday, here? I swear this little rainbow baby was just born. And now she’s a Pokémon loving, notebook hoarding, inquisitive little 8 year old.

I took lunch to her on Thursday…her birthday was Saturday, but I decided going to the school on Valentine’s Day for lunch was just too much. So, we did it early. And I brought my little sushi-lover a heart shaped platter full of sushi that she devoured.

And, I totally forgot to take a picture, so we grabbed one at home after school! Thankfully, she was happy to oblige.

She requested a trip to the local roller skating rink for her birthday. Admittedly, this was totally something I didn’t expect her to want to do, (nor how much it would cost for a family of 6 to roller skate and rent skates). But, she loved it.

She had a tough start, but one of the employees came over and asked if he could give her some tips, so, she got some professional tips and was a lot more confident in her skating abilities after just a few minutes.

I, however, had to take a couple breaks. As it turns out, skating in a circle for an hour and a half makes me quite dizzy. She was sweet enough to come and check on me!

We then had a family hibachi lunch, also on request. It was tasty and everybody was happy with their meals. And turns out, after skating for over an hour, we are all pretty hungry, too.

Dinner was at home with a cake by big sister N. E had asked for an Eevee Pokémon cake and N delivered!

After dinner, it was time for some delicious chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and fondant topping.

And, of course, a little singing of Happy Birthday, making of wishes and blowing out candles.

Many happy returns of the sun, E! And happy 8 years of being Earth-side!
