How to make a delicious 150 calorie smoothie

Last year, when I lost a lot of weight, I discovered an easy 150 calorie snack option that got me a serving of dairy + a serving of fruit and had quite the punch of fiber and protein. Plus, it is super easy to make and left me feeling full.

Even though, I’m not counting calories right now, I still make this easy 150 calorie smoothie for a snack so I don’t eat a handful of sour patch kids.

Delicious 150 calorie smoothie

Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c frozen mixed berries 60 cal
  • 1 cup non-fat or soy milk 90 cal

Instructions

  • Place in blender and mix until blended completely.

At first I was using soy milk, but then I discovered Hood Simply Smart Fat Free Milk. It has the same number of calories per cup (90 calories), but has a whopping 10 grams of protein!

To make things super easy on myself, I blend it up in my personal blender until smooth so all I have to do is flip it over, add a straw and it becomes a cup. Then, I try to drink it as fast as I can so my girls don’t scoop it up!

Recently, we had a little Spa day at my house thanks to Hood, and they made a similar drink, there’s had even more protein because they also added Greek Yogurt.

It’s a little thicker and a little creamier, but made me also feel a little fancy with my martini glass.

*Thank you to Hood for introducing me and some friends to the Hood Simply Smart Fat Free Milk and a couple different ways to try it out. They paid for the party and hosting the event. All thoughts are 100% my own.

Love smoothies for both breakfast and occasional snack! I generally use water or almond milk as my liquid, frozen mixed berries, and a pear or green apple!

Sounds tasty. I’ve tried almond milk, too, I just like that the others have more protein:)

      Congrats! That is very awesome.

And, when I wasn’t pregnant, this helped me lose weight, too because it made me feel full with not a lot of calories.

We make smoothies like that all the time. Thought we don’t have the same milk in our stores. But we do enjoy frozen berries with yogurt and a little milk or juice. They are so delicious!

Never used it? Oh, break that little guy out…it’s a work horse for sure. And saves you from scraping the insides of your blender into a cup!

I am going to have to try that milk. Extra protein and fat free, that’s great. I mistakenly bought a gallon of 1% the other day (why they don’t all use the same label colors I don’t know). I drank 1 glass and knew I wasn’t drinking fat free. Now I have to finish the gallon before trying this.

It makes a great snack for sure. Other wise, it’s super easy to eat like 400 calories for a snack and then you either eat too much during the day, or don’t want the next meal.

Of course to make it more fun it has to go in a martini glass. Love it! My family loves smoothies. I’ll hide in some kale, chia seeds and whatever else I can for my kiddos. They never notice it and drink them down. 🙂
