Heading into middle school these days is no joke. There’s an expectation that all of the children have access to the internet and a computer at their home. They are told to access teacher’s blogs, head to certain websites, write papers in typed form and more. I’m certain we didn’t have a computer when I was in middle school (we called it junior high). In fact, my family didn’t have one until almost college. Times are different for sure.

Despite there being a computer in the house for the girls, the oldest feels she needs her own computer and is campaigning for a laptop all of her own. The HP Envy x360 laptop is just what she’s looking for.

1. 2-in-1 Convertible

This laptop is not only a laptop, but a 2-in-1 device that can transfer from a laptop to a tablet in seconds. My laptop doesn’t have a touch screen so when the girls work on it, they touch the screen all over and wonder why nothing ever happens.

2. Windows 10 operating system

The school district uses Windows at all of the schools, so she’s very familiar with it. The HP Envy x360 has Windows 10 which brings back the Start Menu from Windows 7. Windows 10 also introduces new features, like the Edge Web browser that lets you markup Web pages on your screen using a stylus.

3. Built for Windows Ink

Because it has Windows 10, it allows for Windows Ink capabilities. This allows a person to quickly jot down notes and ideas with ease. Note to self, make sure there aren’t any regular pens or markers around or I’m certain we’ll be cleaning the screen off very often.

4. Full HD touch screen

Well, I guess with a touch screen, you will likely be cleaning it more often. But, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, the color and clarity will overpower any fingerprints on it. The natural finger-touch navigation will make the most of Windows 10. With IPS technology for wide viewing angles, sisters can even have a look at it. With energy-efficient WLED backlight, we can hope that the battery will last much longer than previous laptops.

5. 8GB system memory for advanced multitasking

With needing to stream videos for school, make presentations and other higher functioning programs, it’s important that the HP Envy x360 has substantially high-bandwidth RAM. This will allow it to smoothly run games and photo- and video-editing applications, as well as multiple programs and browser tabs all at once.

6. 360° flip-and-fold design

Not only it is a 2-in-1 laptop and tablet, but it offers versatile functionality with laptop, audience, tabletop, presentation and tablet modes.

7. Fast

The oldest won’t even step off the bus until 4:45pm. She’s going to have a lot to do and a short amount of time in which to do it. So, she can’t be waiting around for a computer to catch up to her. The HP Envy x260 has AMD processors that makes it fast and thin so you can take them with you anywhere you go!

Save $100 until 7/28 on either of the two sizes, either the HP Envy x360 13in or the HP Envy x360 15in.

I love the 2-in-1 option. My dads computer has this feature.
