Lysol Review and Giveaway

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. I MAY EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES.

With cold and flu season already upon us, it is important to kill all of those nasty germs. In addition to hand washing and proper cough and sneeze etiquette, disinfecting surfaces is very important.

One way to get rid of those school germs is to:

encourage your children to drop their book bags, take off their shoes and leave their coats at the door when they walk in. Send them straight to the sink to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds (long enough to sing Happy Birthday twice!) while you spray their bags with Lysol Disinfectant Spray to help kill bacteria they may have picked up from the school bus, the playground or the classroom.

Lysol has other resources as well to help keep your home germ free.
The Germ Information Center provides useful information to help families fully understand the threat posed by germs.
Resources & Downloads has a variety of downloads including the “Looking After You” series of booklets, which provide practical information and tips for keeping you and your children healthy from pregnancy through childhood.
As a teacher, I know that school germs are extra nasty. So many students come to school sick because their parents can’t stay home with them.

Lysol sent me some spray and disinfecting wipes. In addition to regular uses, the wipes came in super handy when we used them on our daughter’s boost seat after a diaper blowout.

This giveaway ended 10/14/2009.

I received a free sample of Lysol wipes and spray for my honest opinion. No other compensation was received.

  2. My husband is an instructor at a military school, and his students have kids (his students are adults, lol), so I'm always worried about him coming home sick – which is the case as I type. So I've broke out the Lysol spray and went to town on door knobs, his bathroom, wiped cabinets down, and he always takes his antibacterial gel with him. I figure there is only so much you can do, so we're doing our best.

  3. O yeah Lysol is in daily use around here lately.

  4. Being that I'm a child care provider – I'm all over Lysol and free stuff, of course 🙂

  5. We have a strict "wash your hands if you've been outside" rule. We also wash after coughing, sneezing or (ew, but they're three) sticking their fingers in mouth or nose. We have the Kandoo foaming soap to keep hand-washing fun.

I have hand sanitizer in every room, and I use Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Sanitizing Spray on everything. EVERYTHING. Tables, chairs, toys, door handles. Everything gets sprayed down.

You can't be too careful when your children were born 7 weeks early and have compromised lung function. Every cold around here turns into bronchiolitis, and the nebulizer is a pain.

  7. I use Lysol on my mattresses and pillows — whenever anyone has been sick.

  9. Husby and I drink TONS of Emergen-C. It's a big boost of Vitamin C that keeps germs at bay.

    I follow. 🙂

  10. I always make my kids in my classroom say the happy birthday song(like you) or the alphabet twice to make sure they are all nice and soapy! Another thing that I ask them to do is SNEEZE in their SLEEVE. I have an entire song sung to "the cheese stands alone" lol, and I show them how to sneeze and cough into the bend of their elbow instead of their hand.

  11. I follow and use lysol and love giveaways….

  12. I'm with you on the washing hands – like 15 times a day – but it just doesn't work – my kids are already sick and will likely be that way until march! love to hear some hints though!

  13. Oh, I was just thinking of blogging about my OCD on germs with this new flu. I use Lysol disinfectant spray and antibacterial kitchen spray…a lot. I love the wipes too. We also have a pump bottle of hand sanitizer, and of course I keep a small one with me at all times.

  14. You're on my blog roll (labeled good blogs/good sites).

  15. Seriously? Is this not the dream giveaway right now, or what? At home, we're big on washing, washing, and washing hands. Washing everything. It's a must.

  16. I use lots of Lysol & Clorox wipes with my 2 boys. We also use hand sanitizer if we go to the grocery store. As soon as they are strapped into their car seats, we go ahead & use the hand sanitizer!
